  2. I don't know David but my subtel warning bells going on with your guest. A brit advocating for oligarch sanctions are popular but bad? Someone saying "American politics is good", someone saying some form of autocratic leaderships are good or "we need the minority to have more to say" ... leave a lot of ambivalence open so I am careful with this guy his british exceptionalism shines a little bit too strongly through.

  8. "Good" or "bad" policies is the wrong wording on this it's "popular" vs. "unpopular" and sadly most good policies are things you probably don't like first but are better in the long term or for the whole of society.

  10.  @DavidTa2  You can only do a proper comparison when you know all sides and I am not so arrogant to pretend I know when I do not. In that case I would respond with "I havn't made up my mind". But on this it was simple. I know both stories well and they are not that complicated. However one has to do with equality, decency, fairness, awareness and systematic discrimination and the other with the definition of gender and the difference between biological gender and emotional gender. I'm sorry but I cannot see a connection unless you want to start talking about misogyny or transphobia.
