  1. The issue is that people see how Democracy in the US is corrupted to the core, stagnating and simply no longer working due to obstructionism and the unfair Senate-hold on the country. Just look at Biden desperatly fighting against his own party members to get anything done. So people have more than enough to reason to say "Democracy [US Democracy] is no longer working maybe we need something different." And since people tried to vote Republicans and it got worse, now they vote Democrat it is not getting better they are justified to ask if it needs something more extreme something else than Democracy. The last outcry on that was the election of Trump with his "I'm against the establishment" ... of course Trump himself was part of the establishment but people swallowed it anyway.
