I've listened now to Brexiteers for months. Immigrants have often more decency, empathy and humility than most of them. I don't care about where someone is coming from but how they behave to me, to others, to society, if they work diligently or just waste time if they are friendly or rude, selfless or egoistic, criminal or lawful, caring or ignorant.
UK's problems with work poverty and simple daily survival matters made them protective of themselves and their families, egoistic and uncaring for others to protect what little they have left in life and I can't blame anyone of them for that, but getting rid of immigrants is not solving the issues and neighter is getting rid of the EU, the problem is the impovering policies of the government and the distribution of wealth in the country. Anti-Immigrant behaviour would not be an issue if people would have less or no anxiety about their own future.

Fear is only the first step what GOP and Fox actually aiming at is anger.
Fear in too large doses is paralizing so the plan is to convert it into anger. Anger is problematic. Anger is a primal emotion and as such controled by the oldest part of the brain where instinct is. The problem with anger is it is transferable and humans have a hard time focusing anger on more than one target and limiting a justified amount of anger as everybody probably noticed already when you were more angry at a person than deserved.
So Fox and Right-Wing media try to nurture and groom this anger.
1) Maintain the anger so it is not lost or diminishes/disappear -- This is why Fox always finds something to be angry about. It is also the reason why so many "invented" things to be angry about exist because they have to maintain the anger-level.
2) Grow the anger -- If possible the anger is made stronger by giving people more things to be angry about and make the existing anger worse.
3) Direct the anger -- Since humans cannot focus anger on more than one target and tend to put all anger into one target not just a little right-wing media gives the anger targets. Democrats, trans, immigrants, moslems, Biden ... whatever they political need in the moment.
As a side-effect this works like a lightning rod for the anger the media don't want the anger at ... GOP, bad policies, foolish behaviour, corporate rule, corruption, legal bribery, cost of living caused by greedy policies, housing issues, climate change etc. and instead ALL the anger is pushed at the selected target.
It's genius ... but diabolitical. Hard to defend against and hard to see/realize this manipulation.

I don't think they are stupid or dumb. But I think they are fearfull, insecure, angry about themselves, decissions in their own past, the hard lot in life, personal problems, the perceived chaos around them, changing society, the relentless speed of technology, the lack of community, social interaction, help, mentoring/leadership. They want someone like that and were convinced Trump can help them not realizing Trump is only using them. And the media keeps them in a trap of lies and are being told everyone outside is not to be trusted.

I agree partly with the Maga supporter. Trump stands for some of America. He is a sympthom of society and history. The worst of the worst. The urgly, the arrogance, the disgusting, the indecent, the dishonesty, the criminal, the corruption, the greed, the heartless, the stupidity, the incompetence, the entitlement, the racism, the bigotery, the misogyny, the bullies. And it needs to be washed away so America can begin the journey into a brighter future.

The jealousness of some UK citizens of germany is beyond belief. I mean I can understand to a point why. Germany was destroyed twice almost to the ground, last time only rubbled remained. They managed to rebuild twice from the position of the loser, stripped of the remaining scientists post-war and of almost every resources and equipment still intact as war reparation. Lived through the times of the cold war split in half managed to reunite both halfs and took the next 20 year rebuilding the east-half a 3rd time from 40 years of mismanagement and pure scialism. Managed to found the EEC/EU project with France and helped it though it's rough and unstable first time and together with the other EU members to the largest economy on this planet. Have way more social policies, less poverty, better education levels, less environmental issues (although there is room for improvement on everything) and still have the 4th strongest economy on the planet in a medium-sized country.
UK's results in the same time are pathic in comparison, altough it was never fully destroyed and had a far easier time recovering after WW2 with all the colonies at that time still. And today problems over problems, deep corruption, mounting debt which doubled since Labour and problems with budget and spending-deficits on health care education, spreading nationalism, xenophobia, islamophobia, anti-semitism. The solution is not jealousy, not leaving the EU, the solution is someone other than the Tories who ruined this country since the second world war now almost to the breaking point. How many years had Labour in those last 75 years? 23 of 75 and last time they were interrupted by an outside event. It's time for a fundamental change of policy in the UK and the only ones possibly doing that is the Opposition. Give them 25 years time and than judge. But no instead people voted for 5 years more of the same.

"When the state borrows less" ... and just yesterday the House passed the new budget allowing to make 4,500,000 x 1,000,000$ debt (that is 4.5 trillion). And this while cutting Medicaid out of existence (880,000 x 1,000,000$) and SNAP by 20%. Just figure this: They make extreme cuts to healthcare (as large as the military budget) AND make record new debt at the same time and both to reduce taxes for the top 5% earners in America. And to top it all off. The military budget was not reduced but expanded from 860,000 x 1,000,000$ to 960,000 x 1,000,000$.

I heared once about a pretty radical policy on this topic. It says that you can no longer inherit wealth once you die all goes back to society and with that everyone starts at zero. Same starting point for all, same rules for all, same conditions for all.
In exchange the money and wealth coming from dying people is used for childcare, education, social programs, social advisors, youth programs, free edcuation and study, free housing when needed, training when needed, sports programs, etc. ... everything kinds might need to mature and to find purpose in life.
Would be interested in how you think about this.

The "nuclear-family" was not as good as they think. This is part of the illussion we call "good old times". But were they so good?
The model of the "nuclear family" is not even possible anymore since you need 2 or 3 jobs in a family to sustain it meaning both parents have to work which destroys the concept of the child-caring mother. See even there close-mindedness and misogyny baked in. Maybe the father wants to care and the mother would prefer to work. The solution would be to raise wages massively back again to 70ties level so one parent can feed a family with one job but tell that to corporate america.
Most other problems families have to deal with come from this lack of money because money funds everything housing, living standard, abilties to deal with crisis and problems, education, childcare, elderly care/social care, decent living area, some luxuries, vacation and entertainment to not just work but life once in a while, etc.
Divorce was harder or impossible and not treated well in society meaning the women could not easily leave again. This gave power to the men and in some families this was exploited, women become slaves disguised under the name "housewife". And sometimes even domestic violence, rape, child abuse all disguised under "marrigage" and "family matters" and the police rarly get involved because it was considered a "family problem".
The greed of already rich people and corporations destroys family life and the so called "nuclear family" together with misconceptions about family and biggotted and powerhungry losers who need to be king somewhere and decide to excert that power at least in their family.

They are being told "woke" is bad. Media and politicans not clearly told them what it is but this is by design they leave it to you what you understand under it. Result: People put all grievances under that term and put the label "bad" over it.
The same happened to "Communism" and "Socialism". Terms people are told to fear and hate but without getting the information what it is and why it is bad. Are you okay being manipulated into hate? Would you not prefer to know why you hate before you hate?
Example 1: Communism
Communism has only one real meaning: "All means of productions are owned by the people".
Meaning all profits a company makes going to all people of that country. No stockholders grabbing dividends, no owners, no boards, no investors, no hedge funds. Every profit goes to all people of that country. Doesn't sounds so bad suddenly does it? Now guess who put the label "bad" on it?
Example 2: Socialism
There are multiple forms of socialism. The most extreme form is communism. But all work under the same principle: Sharing the burdens of costs for some of your income.
We already do that everyday. We all pay taxes so roads and bridges build and maintained. Sadly in America some road and bridges have been sold or build privately so a company ask you for a toll. But public roads have no toll, their costs are shared because it makes no sense that every citizen build his own roads and bridges.
We do it for schools, for social security, for firefighters, for the army, for boder-security, for administation (major, states, federal). We already do it for so many areas. But in some countries it is done for more areas like water, local transport, universities, healthcare.
Guess who want you to hate Socialism. Everyone who wants to keep the bussiness and profits all by themselves. So of course you are told to hate and fear this.

Trump's behaviour makes sense when you know about sociopaths and narcissists. And it makes even more sense when you add Trumps own history to that. The lack of valueing anyone but himself, the selfishness, the greed, the wish for attention, admiration, obediance, the lying, the cheating, the criminality, the collection of trophies, the wish for revenge, the admiration of authorian leaders, his own bullying ... all of it.

What I don't want is the EU becoming a real nation/state and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone with this. Brexiteers were a little naiv to believe the liars on this. The point is, the EU don't have to there are more than enough better reasons to have it. "United in diversity" is concept at the very core of the EU and having the different cultures, languages and regions still working together and cooperate without loosing their identity is fine and even desirable. It would be a disaster to lose this diversity by being replaced by a centralistic state and/or culture.
The problem is most countries and regions are way to small to have political weight on the international level, yet alone on trade-matters, they are just to small and powerless and this is exactly the point where the EU comes in, allowing smaller powerless countries to have influence on other countries inside and outside the EU and especially to giants like US, China, Russia ... and the UK, which would normally play roughshot over them.
So more cooperation yes, more standardization especially on topics which concerns the outside of a country, e.g. Trade, Foreign policy/Sanctions, Foreign Aid, Immigrants and things which can only be solved on a multi-lateral level. For example fighting against tax-avoidance, fraud, terror, outside influence on democratic votes and democracy in general, Climate Change, protection, and so on.
The EU should be Small on the inside, Large on the outside

There will be no last minute Free Trade Deal.
Maybe a last minute barebone deal for some products both want to trade, but the border will come, the paperwork, checks, tariffs, CE product certifiction, Certification for Rules of Origin, longer times to pass the channel in both directions all of it. Even a Free Trade Deal will make this necesarry the only thing not in there would be limits, quotas and tariffs but all the rest of it.
And when people say "last time they were able to come up with something weeks before" should realize: The WA was a deal which was formerly going through the hole process of approval. May's deal. Johnson just changed a little bit regarding NI and the Backstop. But it was a ready deal more or less.
However in this case: The EU has what it legally needed: A clean exit of UK from the EU and a legal solution for the GFA. And even managed to get the outstanding debt back and a little extra for their troubles. This time there is nothing not even a proposal from the UK. And the UK is not even willing to agree to the minimum conditions of the EU (CFP, Level Playing Field and ECJ to enforce the trade deal).
And the clock is ticking. The EU can pull back from negotiations without unfixable consequences and preparing for this step for years now. For the UK it looks a lot worse.
At the same time the UK clearly indicates to break promisses (Political declaration), agreements e.g. Common Fishing Policy and now even talk about reopening the WA again. Prepare to lower import standards (Trade Bill, Agricultural Bill) and and to top it all of: Negotiations with the US requiring lowering of standards and divergence from the EU.
All signs are on red for the EU.
And a little remark to the Brexiteers: Contrary to what your channels are telling you the Withdrawal Agreement of Johnson will not end on Dec-31 only the transition period which is tiny part of it. And it will not be replaced with nothing when no trade deal is reached. Trade deal and Withdrawal Agreement are seperate things and the latter is already UK and international law and will stay with or without a Trade Deal.

Ironically on the goals these Maga supporters have the most agreements even to Progressives on the left. No corruption, less or no crime, free and fair elections, controlled immigration, more money for the people, more fairness, decent jobs, education, protection, a decent home and life.
But the way they want to get there via Trump is impossible to agree on because these are not Trumps goals Trumps goal is just their vote and money and to help him get away with consequences for his actions nothing else.
Edit: P.S. And admiration. For a narcissist like Trump this is the most important thing. Approval, praise and admiration because for them this is love.

Don't underestimate the opportunity. For Chinese People "face" and money are two of the most important topics. And the absence of the US because of the Uguire-topics, the lack of Human Rights, Democratical Principals, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press and the Rule of Law would be major embarassement maybe even insult for the CCP in view of the hole world.
They will distort the olympics to a major propaganda event for the Chinese Government that is absolutely sure. To show the world how "advanced" how "good" they are. The Chinese Government is paying billions every year in Softpower measures around the globe to actively influence the worlds opinion about the Chinese Government (they will say about China, but this is only about the government not the people). And they will place their glory and prestige AND power over the intent and spirit of this event. In a way they even corrupt the purpose of this event: Peaceful, equal, open and fair competition.
[Open (T...wan?), Fair competition? (IP Theft, Destruction of the Biosphere for Profit, Exploitation of humans and nature for profit) Don't make me laught.]
The more I think about it, the more the world has the duty to not take part not with diplomats and not with athlets.
Western Democracies would like to continue to trade and cooperate with China but only under one condition: That China starts following the rules the rest of the world operates under and stop cheating for profit. At least Human Rights, the Uigure-issue and the Rule of Law should be uphold. Asking for Democracy might be too much at this point. It might be good for the Chinese People but never for the Chinese Government as it would end their grip on the people.

Maybe you should re-read how Hitler get into power in the 1930'ties. There are some similarities and noone could ever imagine before what would happen later.
If you want advice. Start to see Trump as a child and treat him like that. Noone really recognises this but most of his popularity comes from exactly this without people noticing or only unconciously. Ask geriatic experts (experts for old people) they will confirm you that old people mentally start turning into children at some point and the best way is to start treating them like that again. It turns out they even like it. That's why Trump admires strong-arm/authoritarian political figures like Putin, Erdogan like some fathers would be to his kids. However the danger is if you treat someone like that as an adult or if you give him to much power. Now add one element to it: Trump is a spoiled brat, pampered all his life. What happens when you have a child like that?
The funny thing is, the evidence is right before us, the way he speaks, thinks, deals with rivals, deal with friends, ex-friends and experts telling him what to do and like he deals with problems is exactly that of a child. Look closer and you will find the child in all of it. Hitler was also a child but was not recognised or treated as such with devestating results. You should ask youself do you want the most powerful man in America, maybe even in the world, who is actually a child, having so much power without any feeling for responsibility?
And there is another danger. This mental condition makes him prone to outside manipulation especially from people in his personal surroundings. I especially think about e.g. Kushner here a psychopath if I have ever seen one but I bet there is a long line of people trying to manipulate him in their favor.
If I were Biden I would strongly react to Trump. Confront him. Try to intimidate him. Acting like a adult would with a naughty child. This would not only help with Trump, but also with his supporters because they suffer from a similar problem being childs needing strong leadership and a direction. They think Trump is this, but don't recognize that he turned into a kid already. Their subconcious have recognized this that's why he gets extra sympathy because their subconcious tells them "he is just a kid". A deadly combination (political speaking).

I don't like giving Biden credit but he earned some at least. Some of his policies especially the technology-stop to China, the investment stop and sanctions to Russia, the Chips act, the inflation reduction act and his continued boosting for the fossile fuel industry (more than under Trump) is making technology and manufacturing returning partly to America and investing more.
So the numbers look good at first, but the people still not feel it. The wages rising not fast enough. The price-gouging still happens, the housing crising, the income inequality is on record level and the wealth inequality is out of control.
Result: People have less in their pockets and less resiliance. Leading to economic insecurity, people needing 2+ jobs (which distorts the employment numbers), less consume, more homelessness, more poverty and more dissatisfaction because people have less money for extras like vacations or luxuries.
We really need to redefine how we measure a "well economy".

I have a wish to make or let's call it a suggestion: Please do not use the term "working class" anymore. It's historical and socially tainted people think immediatly about coal workers, or steel workers or people in the food industry. Call it "working people" instead.
The problem with "working class" is when you use it, employees in offices, education, healthcare even self-employed people immediatly think they are not part of this but they suffer under the same problem as so called "unionised jobs". Low wage, too much work, no negotiation power and only minimal working conditions.
Society has changed in the last 40 years. The rise of the financial market and the further refinement of capitalism changed things and society is now divided between people who work for their living and getting earned income and those who live on unearned income by means of just owning things and live on the fruits of the working people. Rents, mortgages, dividends, debt/intrest, etc.
And if you look very close into politics you will see all policies run along this line in society between those who work - and those who own. So please use "working people" to include all who need to work for their living.

Communism for Dummies:
"When the means of production are owned by the people"
Simpler: Noone owns any companies or farms or factories all belong to the people. All profits are shared by the people but also all costs.
Most are surprised about this core principle of communism. Doesn't sound so bad after all does it?
But of course there are some issues coming with trying to apply this principle in real world, mostly bad management, inefficiency, motivation, corruption like in each company even under capitalism. But the principle sounds not so bad.
The main problem of communism is proper management because you need not only to manage a single company but a whole country. And I recently thought if AI may help out here. AI is good at optimizing. It works on principle, cannot be corrupted and is not selfish or greedy.
What it does not mean:
- You still need to work. No free-bees not even in communism.
- You still get a wage, but you also get a bigger share of the revenue/profits or the products are simply cheaper.
- You still need to buy things as usual everywhere but the prices are set by the central management and eventually by supply/demand.
What it does mean:
- All core services of society: Water/Power/Communication/Waste Disposal are cheaper because there is no middle-man/stockholder anymore and the company prioritize service over profit and cost-coverage over profit and apply proper maintenance, top-tech and low-maintenance and so on.
- Healthcare is cheaper, because there is no middle-man anymore and no stockholders.
- Housing the same, all is rent, but much cheaper because your rent is used to build more houses.
- The list goes on and on. But the main problem is controlling all this smoothly. Hence my idea with AI.

Nah, you can keep Dr. Suess and Mr. Potatohead and kids can continue to read and watch it. Besides it's embarrassing for the US from the outside to even talk about this nonsense.
But we will cancel inequality, dishonesty, bigotery, racism, mysogynism, poverty, decay of the country, corruption and income inequality and bad education. We will end tax avoidance, unfair taxation and use the money to rebuild the country to old glory and make jobs. We will ensure everybodies vote has the same weight, that the elections are easy, correct, fair, transparent and save.

What makes the political situation in America worse is something you can only see as an outsider or knowledge about other countries. The american system is very bi-polar. 2 parties, 2 choices, no alternatives. Yes or no, black or white. Which is turning all this into a football match. Other countries offer much more choices which makes "who are you with" much more complicated.
And this is the problem I think. People want it simple. Optimal just one of two possibilities. But reality doesn't work like that. Complexity, nuance, detail, diversity is much more prevelant in reality.
And you can see this simple world view and wish to reduce problems to that everywhere in America. On politics, on the trans-issue, the gender-issue, on race/skin-color, on climate-change, you can even see it on the middle-eastern war and which side to pick, it's everywhere. And the problem now is it's not enough anymore. The world has become too complex to put it in just 2 boxes. And people are afraid of that and trying to fight this change and having a tantrum.
And some use this fear and refusal to change and adapt and to tolerate to ensure nothing changes, to protect the status-quo out of greed. And this closes the circle to politics again.

Not that much.
Yearly US military budget: 885,000 x 1,000,000$ (3.8% of GDP NATO minimum is 2% could be halfed)
Extra Support for Ukraine 2024: 60,000 x 1,000,000$
Yearly Support for Israsel 3,800 x 1,000,000$
Extra Support for Israel 2024: 21,000 x 1,000,000$
An active war with American soldier in Ukraine would cost trillions. The Iraq 2/Syria war costed 1,800,000 x 1,000,000$ in direct costs and 2,400,000 x 1,000,000$ for veterans until the years 2050.
And it's not Biden or the Democrats alone. 90% of Congress voted for this. See voting record on budget. The voting record is the ONLY thing a politican cannot lie on.
All numbers can be looked up from public reports budget and spending sheets.

Let's assume for a moment they are right about the conspiracy theory. They voting Republicans to "deal with it" whatever this might entail removing the Democrats, Biden, etc. Ending American Democracy to establish a one-party state and appoint a leader or maybe I should say "Fuehrer" who appoints himself for lifetime, stays above the law and is accountable to noone and gives his leadership to his first born son.
Let's assume for a moment the country does not change in the meanwhile and stays like it is (extremly unlikely!) but for the argument sake. All the current problems average American have are still there. Work is still terrible payed, you still not have worker rights, you still have unaffordable housing and rents, you still have unaffordable education, you still have unaffordable childcare, you still have terrible and outdated road, bridges, railway, unreliable, unclean and expensive water pipes and supply, etc. ... and please keep in mind only if this "revolution" does not have bad side-effects on all of this.
So nothing changed in your normal life most likely it's even worse than it already is. But now you live in dicatorial one-party Tyranny. You cannot protest anymore, you cannot say your opinion freely anymore, Fox will probably be the only TV channel allowed, the internet will be firewalled and censored like it's in China to prevent the Truth coming out and to help making propaganda and lying even easier. And on the ballot ... assuming there are still elections ... you can only choose between a Republican and another Republican.
The police can even be more brutal than it already is because the justice system is protecting them. You cannot even sue anyone anymore because the justice system is replaced by party sycophants and react only to money or party affiliation.
Congrats. You created your own hell ... except for members of the Republican Party.

@juliefreeborn5906 I feel only pitty and compassion at this point. I'm studying and analyzing Brexit for a year now and I've seen all the things you written over and over again from Brexiteers, but there is not a shred of evidence to support them and as I said I'm looking for a year now. There is nothing in the treaties, not from either side of politicians it's just not there and you can't get any details which makes sense from Brexiteers.
- The EU intends to integrate more, but noone wants it to become a nation or even a federalistic state.
- The EU strongly fights corruption in the last 2 decades. The make all transparent, have even opened up the accounting and check and sign them, they discuss everything openly without any secrets. You can contact a ton of people if you want to know anything. They even introduce an ethics commission now checking everyone and everything for conflict of interest and corruption - completel unheared of even for governments in the EU.
- The structure of the EU makes lobbyist's work extremly hard. Different languages, different countries, different cultures they are extremly hard to manipulate like that. ThinkTanks and Lobbyists need armies to Brussels to try to influence even the slightest thing ... while the UK has only one unelected buerocrate sitting in down st. and apparently is more important that the PM himself manipulated the political process in the UK for years now.
- There are no provisions regarding the Lisbon Treaty as many Brexiteers said, Lisbon Treaty failed and is dead more or less. Nothing happens in 2021.
- There is no EU army. There are plans for further cooperation to save costs, there are ideas about an army lookup at China, Russia, US and the problems of NATO. But nothing substancial and even if the UK could have Vetoed and stopped it, if necesarry on it's own.
- Noone forced Schengen on the UK
- Noone forced the Euro on the UK, but I want you to consider what it cost you. In 1970 1 Pound was 5 Dollars, in the 90'ties it was 3 Dollars, 2007 it was 1.99$ and one year later 1.45$. In 2019 it dropped to 1.26$ and this year is shortly gone down to 1.16$. If the UK would have addopted the Euro this trend could have been stopped and at the same time would have made the Euro much more stronger than it already is.
- The GFA is very important for the EU. Why else did they denied every suggestion from the UK which would have undermined it. Why are there only 2 possibile solution for this. One has been voted down and another has been pushed through to rip it apart not even a year later.
- The Problem the EU has with a border in NI is been discusssed since 2016. Everyone new what the EU had as condition for it and they never say anything else on it. It's not a negotiation strategy, it's a legal requirement and a humanitarian condition on behalf of the GFA.
- The Border in NI would have to be build by the UK as well, this is a trade requirement even by WTO. The UK could be forced to leave the WTO because of that if there wouldn't be a border! The EU accepted only solutions for this which respected the GFA.
It angers me, that you are so filled up with lies. I pity you for not seeing this. And I have a feeling the only thing which will remain later is endless regret for the rest of your life for betraying your parents ideals fighting in the war for peace in europe and for making the life for the next generations so difficult to solve problems which come from Westminister not from Brussels.
You may hate me now for saying all this to you, because you don't believe me and you think I only want to lie to you. But ask yourself why: The battle between Remain and Leave is lost since December 2019. UK left the EU, the Tories are in power with their largest majority since the 2nd world war and the next election is 4 years away. What could I possibly have from this but wasting half an hour writing this for you. With a feeling of anger to the people who conned you, and pity for you because you believed them and allowed them to being manipulated in the way you have been.
I wish you well mate. The UK choosen a very long and difficult path now with your help. I think it's needed to make some long long overdue changes to society. I don't envy you for what's coming because there were much easier ways. However when you are throught with it and solved a ton of problems with Westminister the EU will still be there and welcome you back. And then we can talk about the future.
Sincierly,
-Aaron

@yeboscrebo4451 And there it is again. You keep repeating the same misleading comparison.
Your number/comparson is completly void of meaning because it compares the percentages of total tax revenue and not the tax each person has to pay from his income.
I give you an example how ridiculous your point is:
Imagine a country with just 2 citizen:
Imagine Citizen A has 100,000,000$ income and a tax rate of 1% paying 1 mio in tax.
Imagine Citizen B has 100,000$ income and 10% in tax rate paying 10,000$ in tax.
The total tax income would be 1,010,000$
The "lower bottom" 50% would be 0,9% of this and 99,1% would be the top 1% in this. This is what you are throwing at me all this time.
The tax-rate of the low-wage earner would still be 10 times higher than for the rich guy although the rich guy earns 1,000 times more than the other.
Meaning the poor guy has to give up 0,10$ from each dollar he earns while the rich guy only has to give up 0,01$ per dollar earned.
And that considering that the rich has no issues paying the same tax rate or even a 90% tax rate would not have any impact on his life and still earn 111 times more than the other after taxes. He would just get richer a little slower.
This is the unfairness. The same unfairness which exists in the US.

Things are moving rapidly and I have a feeling something will happen within with next 10 years.
And here is my reasoning for this opinion:
1) Xi Jingping moved away from the path of liberalization and opening up to the west reaching it's high around 2010. Things radically changed in the last decade, especially in the last years. Nowadays ordinary foreigners can't even travel to China anymore and existing foreigners have to deal with raging nationalism and attempts to make them leave or even direct actions to deport them.
2) Xi Jingping now announced this phase of liberalization was a necessary phase to get economical power and with that military power but it's now time to return to the original strategy. And indeed since he took over the spending on surveillance, soft-power and propaganda and the military reached new records. However on this point it's hard to say if he wants this for internal or external pressure (See this channels other videos on this).
3) The Chinese government is trying to cut dependencies and external influences. Journalists are forced to leave, Foreign Teachers are pushed out, ruined or deported, Foreign Bussinesses are taken over or ruined and replaced by new government connected companies.
4) There are signs of a change in doctrine. Signs and billboards resembling sovjet-style propadanda appear all over China. The national media produce more propaganda than ever. And there is Xi Jingpings new book. He clearly wants to go back to Mao-times and actually replace Mao and create a new version of it with him as leader. And he will most likly use every means necessary to get it. The only problem, he is not as popular as Mao and lacks the charisma so he may try to make up with actions and results what he lacks in charisma and popularity.
Additional signs of this doctrine change are the recent 100 year celebration of the party and it's messaging. No longer trying to appeal to the world to get attention and respect, but instead demanding respect by show of force and (alleged) supremecy. The Olympics in Japan also shows a desperate attempt to show supremecy, strength, pride on a level last seen during the Cold War with the Sovjet Union.
5) The internal pressure is rising. Numerous social, demograhical, cultural and especially economical problems internally last but not least by Covid (now forcing a 2nd extremly unpopular harsh lockdown because of Delta spreading) forcing the government to apply more propaganda, censorship, surveillance and oppression than ever before.
6) China is struck by terrible natural disasters recently and over the last years among them Floods, Typhons and Covid threatening the "Mandate of Heaven" a strong belief in Chinese culture reaching back to the emperors and which is very strongly believed in China. The Communist Party is trying to suppress every information about it but events on this scale stay not unnoticed. The internal pressures rises and may make the Party deciding to do desperate measures to divert attention, apply oppression or provide an alternative reason for existence and continuation e.g. by external actions in worst case by trying to attempt a military solution for something.
And there is Hongkong.
7) Hongkong is lost and maybe the best example what happens when "The Chinese government takes over". The West could not do much regarding Hongkong without breaking international treaties and breaking their own rules, but they will actively oppose this example being repeated on Taiwan.
Final Remark
We are in an era with a new type of war between Autocracy and Democracy between Freedom and Suppression, between Free Will and Control, between the Truth and Lies. And the battlefronts are everywhere. In media, in politics, within countries, between countries, in and between people, races, communities even between family and friends nowadays.
And China has some of the battlefronts as well and at the same time is a battlefront itself.

There are advanced countries, who are like the US also democracies have the rule of law, etc. but have no juries. In Europe in particular. They have judges, lawyers, witnesses, etc. and all the procedures ... but no juries, no jury duty and so on.
It changes a lot and lays much more weight on the judge and on the arguments and substance of the lawyers. Less social hacking, less manipulation, less biasness by selection, less gaslighting since judges can see through them much easier.
However it also makes the judges role and ability much more important ... and I'm not sure American Judges who are often political appointees and not always selected for their abilities, experience and objectivity would be a good idea to be implemented in the US since it gives potentially corrupt judges even more power.

I think the wrong questions are being asked here. The first and foremost question is: What are the people angry of? Angry at asians makes no sense. And not just because Asia is big and there are a lot of different cultures and countries there, even Russia is half on this continent. Someone told them they should be angry at asians, so their anger was redirected from something else by Republicans and Trump. Even this lawmaker here is activly trying to redirect the anger. But from what?
Well probably Corona, Job-losses, low-wage, financial problems, housing problems, feeding problems, problems of society, their own problems in family, work, live I guess. They surely have enough a reason to be angry and being afraid and I don't blame them there are a ton of problems.
And my theory is, the Republicans with the help of the right-wing media in form of Fox and Co is activly trying to steer and fuel the anger to
1) Avoid that the people eventually place the anger where most of their problems really coming from: Republicans and their Donors the so called Establishment (they make the rules, they were in power (still are in a lot of places)).
2) Angry people are less rational. They are easier to manipulate und seek ways to protect themselves and are willing to give up freedom for security and protection and would even be willing to vote the people who promise to protect them from that (Republicans).
The people are being playing here by Republicans and the Right-Wing media. It's highly a-moral and manipulative what is really going on here. They playing on people's fears and exploit them and even artifically increase them.

You just need to name "Defund the police" to show how terrible Democrats are. A 3-word slogan which need 3 paragraphs and a "but" to not be misunderstood. Ridiculous stupid decission it should never have been used.
Republicans are very good at campaigning with more or less nothing. They either have no policies to work with or their policies are so terrible that everyone actually reading it will vote against it.
Republicans also never talk about the past and about their achievements because there is nothing or it's so bad that it's better to not talk about it anymore. Nerver noticed, but Republicans always talk about tomorrow, they promise the world for you and the pot of gold is always behind the next hill at the end of the rainbow. But they never deliver it's a lie, an illusion.
Republians also like to campaign on fear and anger. It's their most successfull strategy for elections. Make an enemy (trans, culture war, woke people) or exaggerate an existing enemy or prejudice (immigrants, "metropolitan elite", The Swamp, socialists/communists) and promise "to deal with it" and to protect voters from it. Do they ever? No ... or lets say they make it appear like that. Solving it means you cannot use it for the next election.
Despite all those negatives and more or less nothing substantive (and real/truthful) to campaign on Republicans manage to get elected quite successfully by appealing to emotions, especially anger, hate and fear. They have a short direct language mostly short 3 word slogans people can remember and use even if they might not fully grasp the meaning. And the Democrats could learn a lesson or two.
And this is the what Democrats need to change. Appeal to emotions. People like hope, passion, empathy more than hate, anger and fear. Point out achievements people liked or even loved. Keep reminding them of the good stuff. And use the policies you plan to introduce to work for you most of the policies the left suggested are liked even by Right-Wing voters.

Well we give our knowledge and experience further by talking, painting, writing, teaching, making music, youtube video and so on. Others can incorporate what they learned or what ideas they had and seen in their life (History!) and do the same, improve on that or use this knowledge to avoid repeating past mistakes or improve things. So there is a possibility of giving information further and in the last 100 years we increased the speed a lot.
Question now is: Can we avoid killing us in the process of learning (nuclear wars, climate change, etc) and can we avoid that we loose too much of the knowledge the past has left us so far e.g. by burning books or changing history or prevent others from learning by blocking the internet, by too much lying, forgetting or not leave information behind for the future.

What flavour of Christianity? Europe sunk 250 years into darkness and violence finding that out what the right kind is since the reformation of 1517 by Martin Luther. Ironically the very conflict which gave birth to America because people had enough of it.
Do you really think these people today would not try to call all other flavours than their own "herecy"? See the point is not really religion or not, the point is division and conflict because chaos is a ladder. If you are free to practice any religion you'd like there is no conflict. Do you see it know? Do you see the pattern of evil here? You can see that in a lot of conflicts and wars across history.
Lies, Generalizations, Distrust, More Lies, Anger, Othering, Segregation, Hate, Dehumanization, Conflict and violence rince and repeat

What Trump and in extension Maga showed is that the current system of politics is no longer fit for purpose and desperatly needs reforms.
The honor-system no longer works in the executive, legislature and even the judiciary. The system simply cannot handle the destructive lack of scrutiny, transparency, accountability, integrity, decency and honesty.
Trump showed the cracks and deficiencies lingering under the surface for at least 40 years if not even longer. It is now up to us to fix it, make it more robust, fair, free, open, transparent.

"You can only have more if others have less." ... please please let's have debate about that, because this is one of the core misconcepts in American economy and it's used to justify another concept they not want to talk about called "Keep them Poor."
If you are interested keep reading otherwise thanks for reading this far.
Let's simplify this a little. Let's imagine all of the wealth available would be a cake.
In this analogy it's a question of how large your piece of the cake is and how to make the one of others smaller. Eventually the piece of the others is so small that you cannot make it smaller so you start looking for new cake and conquer neighbouring countries to take their cake.
Humans done that for 12,000 years. Stealing cake from your neighbours and try to make your piece larger. Result: Crusades, Wars, Deaths, Poverty, Epidemics ... for centuries.
Than we did reach the 20th century and things changed. Humans began to debate on how to cut the cake. Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Marxism, etc. but all of these models basically worked on the same assumption: How can you make your piece larger and who gets what. And who is allowed to hold the knife.
But something else happened at the same time. The cake got larger over time. If it were otherwise we would still live in caves and fight over how much meat you get. Human developments. Technological developments and more humans. Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Medicin, Fertilizer, etc. The cake got larger and larger over time and everyone got a little more and the overall living standard got better. Although the stuff above still happened and once in a while ruined everything.
Some clever people saw this debakle in the 20th century and before and thought: Well the world is divided up now, no empty spots. We cannot continue with the "make cake larger by conquering your neighbour strategy" or "try to make your neighbours piece smaller". And did come up with a new solution called "Egoistic Altruism" in short - make the cake bigger faster and make more cake.
And the EU build on the ruins of two world wars looked for something to prevent a 3rd and picked up "Egoistic Altruism" as their core principle: Stop with taking someone elses cake and instead just make the cake larger ... and more cakes.
This is why the EU seen an unprecedented growth in 60 years to the largest and richest market on the planet ... without trying to take someone elses cake.
The goal of the EU is to avoid conflict by economical interdependency and by growing the own market with regional development = Making the the cake larger for everyone a little more. And it works and it's the only sustainable model without relying on military and conquest.
I know it was long. But I think this is very important especially if I look at Putin trying to do the old thing with taking someone elses cakes again ... same as China who wants to take Taiwans cake.
Unfortunatly America still not have learned this lesson and uses very eloborate ways to still steal other peoples cake instead of trying the make the cake bigger! Please pick up some lessons from the EU it's the only way to coexist peacefully AND grow.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: There is also a fantastic short 10 min video about the concept of "Egoistic Altruism" from "Kurzgesagt" I highly recommend ... if you don't mind the animated format.

Legally the UK could start negotiating trade deals since invoking article 50 in March 2017 and had there were some meeting with the US in that time. But 2 years long Northern Ireland was like a big roadblock. Leavers underestimated that this british problem would be making such a big issue but noone cared to look before.
The 2nd problem was, was everybody wanted a different form of Brexit. With Single Market, without it, with Customs Union, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, No Deal, there were soo many variations and for 2 years the Leave groups sabotaged each other to get what they wanted. Johnson for example voted 2 times against a deal.
The 3rd problem was that Free Trade with the EU and Free Trade with the US at the same time is not possible because of different standards. And the Vote-Leave people want an US trade, while others don't wanted to lose 51% imports and 43% exports with the EU.
The 4th issue is, that the UK could not start to talk about trade before the Withdrawal of the UK was completed. Because the Withdrawal Agreement set on which date the UK stopped being a member, if the UK would stay in the Single Market and Customs Union or not, if there is a transition period or not and how long and the 1st problem with NI was solved in this. So the actual trade deal talks with the EU started this year.
And because of problem 3 nothing is currently moving. The Johnson Vote Leave government don't want a Free Trade Deal with the EU because it would made a Free Trade Deal with the US impossible.

You cannot ask Britain if sanctions against Oligarchs are helpful or not the elite is tighly connected to their wealth for 20 years now. It's not only them, it's bankers, lawyers, solicitors, investment managers, the whole financial sector, politicians, even the prime minister himself, real estate agents, private schools, universities the whole english elite is corrupted and connected by them and their money and the very least is cutting funding to those who benefited or still benefit from Putin in power.

The simple difference between Facts (which News should be alone) and Opinion is not known to most. They don't know there is a fine but extremly important difference.
1) One is fact or reality what happened or what is - the truth for a better word - and there is only one version of it all other variations are misinformation or lies if you prefer. Informations which are not truthful or also contain "views" (see next paragraph) which were either keept secret, changed or only partial given or worse completly made up. THIS IS FREEDOM OF INFORMATION. Getting the full, unchanged, honest information without changes, additions or omissions.
2) The other is a view on those facts, an interpretation, an opinion on those facts and how to proceed from there, what to do next, how to react to it or an evaluation how bad/good this is. There is only one version of facts out there, but everyone of us can have his or her own view on this or even multiple views. And linked to this is FREEDOM OF OPINION. That noone can force their opinion on you. FREEDOM OF SPEECH. also guarantees you that you can say your opinion without getting punishment for it. But this is NOT giving you the rigth to lie or manipulate about the facts (see first paragraph).
What's important here is: If you disagree with the opinion of someone else, it's a disagreement, not a lie. And since everyone is free to have his or her own opinion you can only try to argue/convince them otherwise. But lying has nothing to do with it (unless the person actually lies about the facts).
And channels like Fox or Newsmax who call themselves "News"-Channels are actually Opinion-Channels. And they don't want you to know this fine difference. They want you to think both is the same and with that ... that the facts have different versions which is never the case. And to make you attack everyone who disagrees with your opinion by making you feel attacked on the facts. They want to have THEIR version of the facts ... so you get an opinion/view to THEIR liking. This is the great manipulation.
And why do we know this? Well because channels like Fox have argued before courts with this excuse. They actually admitting before a judge, that they are only giving opinions (#2) not facts (#1) ... but they call it "News". Legally this get them off any kind of repercussions because well Freedom of Opinion.
See how this connects now. If people don't see the difference the "News"-channels and people like Tucker Carlson got away scot free because they tell you their opinion (#2) and you think it's facts (#1).
Another problem is: There are a lot of rights for opinions (#2) but there are no strong protections for facts/the truth (#1). There is no punishment for lying (besides lying to courts), there is not even a right for truth. The only point when courts make a ruling on this is when someone has a financial damage from a lie, or another disadvantage or any of the other rights is hurt. But the truth has very little protection. And I think it desperatly needs some.
My suggestion is introduce a new human right: The Right for Truth
Giving all people a right to know the truth and make all people responsible for the lies they tell if they lie (because they hurt the rights of other people). And with the status as human right, it can limit and override the Freedom of Speech meaning you can have any opinion you want, but you have no right to lie to others. If you do you are fully responsible for the consequences.

This is very source and heart of all problems in the United Kingdom. It connects to everything. To the class system, inequality on all levels, income inquality, corruption, greed, tax-avoidance, unfair taxing. This is just all one larger cancer and the UK is feeding it since the 80'ties.
And it had never anything to do with the EU. The EU was however a perfect scapegoat to hide all of this and to have something to point the finger at.
Quite the contrary even, the EU tried to fight this cancer with the introduction of ATAD-I and especially ATAD-II which would have laid bare the connections, the hidden money, the hidden accounts and transactions. And do you want to know when ATAD-I was made? In 2016, the year of the leave referendum! And do you know when ATAD-II was introduced, which would have been even worse for them? Well in 2020! Remember me, what happened in 2020? Yeah rigth. Any questions left?

You don't know it yet or better you don't want to accept it but you not fighting against any country here. This is just a Chinese matter and the dynamics of civilizations. These are like laws of nature, like water is wet like ice is cold. You can fight against these effects, cover up the informations and reasons about it, make a story up, blame it on someone else but in the long run you lose against reality.
Have you not noticed that this video not even once mentioned another country? This is just China vs. Demography, China vs. Nature, China vs. Laws of Economics, China vs. Laws of Physics. China is up to a challenge all countries have to deal with on their own.
It's easier to deal with some of those issues by opening up to the world again. But the Chinese government instead decided the opposit and now reality is taking it's toll. The Rest of the World is not cooperating on the principles of Democracy, the Rule of Law, Freedoms and Human Right just because the US forced everyone to do so or because of circumstances of History especially WW2, but because it makes dealing with some problems easier and more reliable and frankly less costly.

The Afghanistan War costed 2,130,000 x 1,000,000 $ in direct costs between 2001 and 2022. And another 1,800,000 x 1,000,000 $ until 2050 for healthcare and pensions for veterans. Compared to that 40,000 x 1,000,000 $ is not that much and no America soldiers are in danger. And the money does not go directly to Ukraine anyway the US military modernize it's equipment and weaponry with it and give the old stuff to Ukraine, Taiwan and Europe for defense.

What you call "Deepstate" is the American Oligarchy. It exists indeed for at least 40 years maybe even longer reaching back into the 19th century and the time of the first US millionairs. It consists of a group of Oligarchs, these are extremly wealthy, extremly good connected individuals from the billionaires in the US.
It's not really a secret there are even books from reputable authors about it not sounding like an insane conspiracy believer. But they sure tried to stay in the background influencing the country by donations, good connections and favors and by sending selected personell into politics to both sides actually. People like Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers are assumed to be part of it. Maybe you should ask Joe Manchin about this or Mitch McConnel both have the same employer.
However the Republicans are their house-party. They always pushed them, helped them with money, connections and influence. However as you see by Hillary Clinton, Munchin and others the Democrats are not totally outside of their reach as well.
Ask yourself: What is the most reliable way of ensuring nothing gets passed you don't like?
Answer: By controlling both sides of the Isle. Now who is against 15$ minimum wage, Infrastructure, HR1, tax increases for the wealthy, Wealth Tax (!!!)? Who makes problems with environmental legislation, Green New Deal, more regulation, more worker rights, basically everything which costs employers more money or limits their ways?

Biden did much less than promised. And Biden did only basics which existed before Trump. Not Build Back Better, no election laws, no anti-corruption legislation, no codifying of Roe vs. Wade, no police reform, no asylum/immigraton reform, no Green New Deal, no 15-25$ minimum wage, no long-term child tax credit, no paid parental leave.
Biden gets credit for some things like quickly appointing federal judges, a small student loan forgiveness, dealing with Covid, restoring Americas Reputation on the world stage, building a united front of the West against Russia and China ... but these things are basics you would expect from every American President. Some of it was even just fixing things Trump broke. But real progress is still not there.

@bryaneverett9850 It doesn't have to be. Sorry you not coinvinced me. I don't see any reason why the same reward/punishment system of private companies cannot be applied to national companies.
And I don't suggest to nationalize all, only the core services of society which by extension are always problematic because they are by necessacity not always profitable and the profit-motive also have impact on the quality of service and reliability: Water, Power, Local Transport, Waste-Disposal, Mail, Communication, Education, Healthcare, Childcare, Elderly Care, Housing (partial)

You need an enemy something you can focus the anger on. You need something like a lightning rod to channel all this existing anger and the new anger you will certainly unleash, to focus it and to direct it away from your side. It happens for millenia in human history.
Jews were targetted quite often since ancient rome, women in the middle age (aka "witches"), muslims in the middle-ages and now in the modern age again, Communists for Capitalists and Capitalists for Communists during the Cold War, immigrants in the modern era, then gays, then, trans people. And now Democrats / libs as well.
The real core principle behind all of this is anger and control over anger.
Anger always exists. People are unsatisfied about things in their life and once they getting worse change to anger. It is always there.
Anger is an interesting emotion. Humans have a hard time "limiting" anger justily. And humans tend to focus anger automatically meaning they having problems being angry at more than one target at once.
How often does it happen that you are unjustly angry at a person and snapping at him/her unloading all your anger, not just the amount which would be justified until you realize this was not fair and apologize.
But this is a key thing here when humans are angry they cannot control the amount all your anger goes out at one target. A habit hard to control.
And this is what some humans realized and use it for their own purpose to manipulate. They use the always existing anger, if possible raise it even ... and give this anger a target. And you promise them "To deal with it" or "Protect you from it" ... giving you support, money, power and control.
EDIT:
You can use the same mechanism to direct anger away from you in case you done things creating anger.
And in time of crisis, or with too many problems and economical turmoil there is more base-anger out there in society making it easier to use this strategy and making it much more powerful and effective.
This is also the reason why most dictatorships and autocracies were established during times of extreme problems in society.

Nationalization has nothing to do with communism. Germany still has a market economy and no planning economy like in communism. The railway in germany is also a stock company but Germany is 100% owner.
All core services of an economy should be nationalized to make sure they are reliable, available, maintained, cheap ... even if they might not always be profitable. Energy, Water, Telecommunication, Local Transport, Waste-Disposal, Education, Healthcare, Social Care.

Let's have a look who has the biggest federal tax revenue by states in the US. See below.
P.S. the numbers are in 1000$ meaning 1,000,000 is one billion dollar.
Not helping California is like not having your best workers on the job. This number will inevitable be reduced if California is not rebuilt properly. Do you want higher taxes or less federal support to offset the missing money from California?
These are numbers for 2019 by state:

The US military budget alone this year is 860,000 x 1,000,000 $. Ukraine got 20,000 x 1,000,000 $ in ammo and old military equipment the US military was planning to replace anyway. You think this is relevant?
For comparison Build Back Better was supposed to invest 3,200,000 x 1,000,000$ into US infrastructure over 10 years. Sadly is was cut down and slashed by Manchin and Sinema to merely 750,000 x 1,000,000$.
Social Security alone costs 1,170,000 x 1,000,000$ per year. You really think these 20,000 makes a difference?
