Don't underestimate the ability of people to vote against their own interests.

@Fireinthesky67 You're criticizing your own people though.

@juliane__ A "better" Europe but a destroyed France.

@eljanrimsa5843 How? Taubira is so vapid and her only success in this campaign was to add yet another candidate on the left. She's absolutely useless.

@awonoto Both of these clowns came to ppwer after years of boring neoliberal rule. If the far right doesn't win in 2022 in France, it will definitely in 2027. The margin is getting closer and closer. We are just delaying the inevitable thanks to useless shills like Macron.

🤢 Ah yes, poor people don't work enough.

@oscarosullivan4513 He and his government do target minorities. They call the left "Islamo-leftism" (eerily similar to that Judeo-Bolshevik conspiracy), they start stupid moral panics that are similar to those of the GOP (against the French version of the pronoun "they" etc), Macron quoted a far right thinker (Maurras) and paid homage to Pétain. Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

@popicelolly Not in a healthy democracy where you can vote for a party you actually support. It's just our electoral system that sucks (scrutin uninominal majoritaire, FPTP in English).
3
There are tons of right-wing working people who vote against their interests.
3
Let's hope not.

Don't bother looking into French politics. It's a hellhole which will make you even more tired of humans.
2
IDK either. I'm so tired of my country and the political "discourse" that has been turned into a shitshow thanks to the few billionaires owning the media and giving the spotlight to people like Zemmour (backed by Bolloré, a billionaire who owns several TV channels).
2
The legislative elections don't have any effect now. They are held right after the presidential election and the winning candidate's party gets almost all the seats. The other parties can't win because their voters are demoralized.
2
Yeah, the fire is still burning.
2
When you praise Pétain for protecting the Jews in France during the Holocaust (which is an obvious lie), you are being anti-Semitic and borderline a Holocaust denier. Zemmour clearly has identity issues of his own, by trying to be "Frencher than French" probably stemming from a inferiority complex. For him, being French equals defending its worst leaders.

ger du What are you talking about?
1
No we can't.
1
I would rather have him be gay than being married to that chomo teacher of a wife 🤢

That shows how much the political discourse in France has shifted to the far right. Even Zemmour isn't introduced in TV shows as extreme but just as another candidate albeit a polemical one.

Our intellectuals are jackshit.
