@mikefarley5358 Right... And definitely not a dumb teen. The bar has been set very low to be a sociopath nowadays.

I mean, it was a 'no' like the ones we say before the roller-coaster rushes down. Sometimes you need a little motivation to overcome your fear but here, everyone was dumb and dangerously underestimating the danger of the situation. Which isn't surprising coming from teenagers.

This Nigerian Loves Drinking Garri Dumb like a teen?

How do you know she was crying for herself and not her friend? She was reading the letter before knowing her sentence. And God forbid that teens could be a little emotional in a court room! Anyway, if you can prove it's an "attempted murder" go ahead but the judge decided otherwise for a good reason. BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A MURDER. By the way, thank you and the other people in the comments for reminding me why the judiciary system is important. Y'all love mob rule and an eye for an eye until you or one of your loved ones is the culprit.

@krishkirk 5 years? You're too soft. Let's demand the death penalty!

@geckosgotgames3283 Most victims of rape don't come forward 😐 A Twitter tantrum is not the same as a prison sentence for God's sake

EighTEEN is still a teenager.

Teens in groups aren't the brightest.

@lizzymartins6188 How do I know? Because I was a teen and I did some impulsive stuff (it never sent anyone in the hospital though). This was a stupid but not calculated move.

@lizzymartins6188 Or you know, she just pushed her friend while they were having fun without measuring the risk. And it was her friend so obviously she's going to feel bad. Not everyone is a psycho in disguise.

Black Licorice People drive under influence, some people die while taking selfies near a cliff, some parents shake their babies to death to stop their cries. COMMON SENSE IS NOT SO COMMON. I don't believe she meant harm and in a court, this is a crucial point.

@samchrischristopher4786 Except the girl showed that she felt guilty. People don't forgive people who don't care about the pain they caused. They forgive those who feel sorry for their actions.

@aizai8984 Thank God we don't judge people based on your sixth sense.

@yeshacroe9354 Y'all need to study the law a little more. Intent is literally what separates first-degree murder from second-degree murder from manslaughter. The punishments associated to each of these vary in consequence.

Eye for an eye and everyone goes blind. There's a strict different between reckless behavior like she did and planning to harm someone like you wish. The former lacks ill intent, the latter doesn't.
