It doesn't make any sense to bring this topic so I understand the face-palming. It's like going to a conference with an Arab author and ask "What's your opinion about 9/11?".

@rorychivers8769 The US fills its movies with its ideology ie individualism, violence and consumerism. And as someone else said, the US treats all of Latin America as its backyard. I think Cubans would prefer to see pro-American maps in movies rather than having to deal with a 60+ year old embargo.
19
But it's literally the opposite though. Movies outside the US were Americanized not in order to cater to US audiences (it's a market that is hard to crack for foreign movies) but because American movies flooded foreign cinemas and attracted crowds who loved blockbusters. This inspired foreign directors and studios.
15
The West is more subtle in this regard: they drown any meaningful conversation with droves of fabricated lies, moral panics, useless products and manufactured consent. It's not your usual censorship but important information still doesn't spread.
10
@enginerdy Reagan, W and Trump. The Unholy Trinity.
8
How is isolationism relevant? Not wanting to invade foreign nations and wage war all over the globe doesn't mean you want to be completely closed to the world and to cultural exchanges.
7
@Fred_the_1996 How can algorithms tell the difference?
6
@DumplingDoodle I think it's more about the era the movie is set in (Meiji era so when Japan modernizes and gets rid of its samurai class) rather than just samurai movies in general.
6
America is truly a weird place. I didn't feel comfortable there, everyone and everything seemed so fake.
5
@nicholasmiller9468 I expect a farmer to know a little bit about history because he or she is a citizen and a citizen must be enlightened.
4
@badart3204 Just use Gringo or Yankee.
4
@Rootiga The 2 party system is definitely part of the problem and is blocking the solution.
4
@securityguy9992 It already is controlling HK. Who will actually stop the CCP from doing whatever they want there?
3
Wakanda?

@vylbird8014 This isn't necessarily true for local politicians. The more removed a political position is from you (let's say your mayor vs the president), the less you have an influence on them and their policies and the more likely they just follow the party line. That's why people should be way more involved in local politics (town/city), school boards, the elections of their county's sheriffs, their state's attorney general and other state elections, referendums. These are scales where you still have an influence and that greatly impact your daily lives (how your city and its public services are run, what innovative and new policies can be applied statewide etc) and the elected officials aren't necessarily blindly following the party. Federal politics is definitely out of reach and too corrupt. It's just frustrating to follow, it's basically a waste of time. Think big but act primarily on the small scale.

@corneliusmcmuffin3256 We can't blame them for not wanting Twitter, Facebook or Google there knowing how these websites and companies constantly spy on us. Seeing how powerful they are and in private hands is as concerning as Chinese censorship.
2
I only know about your king and his harem 😳
2
@_Jay_Maker_ But we also have this type of education system in Europe but we still value general knowledge.
2
@pz_faust6866 What misleading information? The Japanese actually thought it was the first American movie being respectful of Japanese culture and history.
2
None of this makes sense. I really don't get the "pears from America are amateurs" vs "pears from Argentine are professionals". I'm pretty sure the US has an agricultural industry too...
2
Should have stopped at "it's cheaper" instead of this useless "my mom doesn't know how to cut hair" segment.
2
Spends the video explaining why it doesn't matter where it's produced and packaged regarding the USA but when it comes to SEA, he says that it makes sense that it should be done there because they consume it there. Whut?
2
I get the reference but it's 100% bullshit here. My man forgot to say carbon emissions from the transportation sector and forgot to account for CARS. Not all vehicles driving on roads are trucks. Quite the opposite.
2
@DumplingDoodle This. Identity politics and culture wars have been pushed to the max after Occupy Wall Street.
2
Despite being told with fancy video editing, this is bullshit. My man totally forgot about cars.
1
Huhuhu, I know two numbers let's make some rassizum huhuhuhu
1
@SD-iv4sz The UK is the 51st state.
1
@yeshuaislord6880 I live in neither of these hellholes.
1
@pain3236 Black people and Native Americans: Are we a joke to you? The US doesn't have any moral superiority over China. You destroyed and massacred the entire Middle East just because you couldn't find your CIA trainee, Osama Bin Laden. You massacred Vietnamese people and Koreans because "communism bad". You supported crazy dictators like Pol Pot and Pinochet. You've done jackshit to solve the climate crisis despite being the richest country on Earth and the most polluting for a century. You export your crazy culture wars to the whole world, destroying the political discourse in every country. The US is a demonic entity.

Too bad so many things are wrong and tangential to the point in this video
1
Evergreen cargo ship go brrrrr 🚢🚢🚢🚢
1
@Halo_Legend Nah, he's right 😔
1
@SpahGaming I hate the modern world.
1
Too bad all of his video is filled with bullshit though.
1
Thank God there aren't more American tourists, the current ones are already insufferable. Such an annoying people. Edit: lmao "Americans don't have disposable income to travel". That's some BS. You guys are the richest among the OECD. But I guess it's still not enough. Let me set a GoFundMe for you guys.
1
We still produce a lot of movies in France but they tend to suck.
1
@LancesArmorStriking In France, we manage to make room for our own productions (200 a year), American movies and many other foreign movies in our theaters. We could let Hollywood monopolize everything but we don't. Aren't Americans tired of seeing the same stuff over and over? As for English being the global language, we dub everything in French here but there are subtitled screenings too. Why can't Americans? They can't even watch British shows or movies without remaking them...
1
Yeah, most of this video doesn't make any sense and is filled with misinformation. Would love to see a breakdown of the biggest problem you have with it.
1
This. And you probably don't even need fancy pears for that kind of processes food
1
Why not harvest the pears later?
1
Trucks and lorries causing 53% of CO2 emissions from transportation? Did you entirely forget about... cars? I know it's a rare contraption.
1
Or you know, just eat a fresh pear. Better for the environment and for your health.
1
Wildly different? Benelux has as much sunlight as England 😂
1
This story is honestly heartbreaking and tragic. Sounds like a modern Romeo and Juliet with perfect social commentary.
1
Why hasn't Ken Loach made a movie about this already?
1
@Kaiserboo1871 They are nowhere near in terms of nefariousness. Did any of these three Democrats sell weapons to an enemy of America (Iran) to fund death squads in Nicaragua? No, that was Reagan. Which president destroyed the middle class and started our current era of unchecked capitalism/oligarchy/high inequality? Again, Reagan with his Reaganomics. Who let thousands die from AIDS? Reagan. Who started several enormous wars that took 20 years to get out of and that destroyed the Middle East? Bush in Afghanistan and Iraq. Who lied about WMDs in Iraq? Bush. Who let the biggest economic crisis in a century happen? Bush in 2007-2008. Who is so suspicious that only God knows if he wasn't directly involved in 9/11? Bush. Who completely ignored climate change? Reagan, Bush, Trump. Listen, I hate Dems as much as any other guy but Republicans, especially Reagan and W. Bush are in a whole other league. These two are pure evil. Trump is just a clown in comparison.
1
Are maps centered on the Pacific Ocean common in the US? I feel like they use them to throw people off.
1
But this was already the case before social media and the internet. Americans have had that reputation for being clueless about the outside world for quite some time now.
1
@@RandomGuy-qg9xf How is it boomer BS? We consume way more information nowadays and I think it leads to some kind of overdose because we don't have the time to process it.
1
It's actually similar distances.
