  1. Is it that impossible to do both? To be individually aware and active but also collective minded? I don't see any pros with this mindset of "it's not good to remind people of the effects of their consumption"

  2. "Structural change is beyond your purview" Is it entirely false? Also, personal decisions and collective action are not incompatible. What is collective action? A demonstration once in a while, signing a petition, voting every other year, showing up at a local council? That leaves a lot of time for other ways to educate yourself and see how you can enact change in your own life so that you realize this change is possible on a larger scale. Or just research what kind of change you need to change you need, even if it's currently out of your reach, meaning you will look out for collective proposals. Carbon footprint is one of the ways I know how our lifestyle needs to be overhauled. That transportation but also heating, food, housing, consumption etc were a lot more emitting than what I thought. That we have a very small carbon budget compared to how we spend it, that we are living on credit and well above our means figuratively speaking. Telling that we have no agency in our own lives doesn't motivate people for common change. The more I watch your videos, the more I think they are filled with bad, basic takes.

  4. "Could have been a positive idea". It can and is a positive idea. You literally dismiss it just because dumb companies use it, not because it's a bad metric per se. Icarbon footprint is important. Knowing in which sectors we are wasting CO2 is important. Being clueless doesn't lead you to ask for change. Critics of carbon footprint sound like they arr pushing for willful ignorance and total irresponsibility.

You act like we can't even reduce a little bit our fossil fuel consumption or that our society is efficient in terms of energy use 😂 The goal should be to get rid of most of it and on many issues we can. Efficient urban planning gets rid of cars, good insulation gets rid of HVAC energy consumption etc.

  6. Canada doesn't have one of the lower carbon footprints in the world. What are you smoking??? India, Africa and other poorer/developing nations have the lowest. Do you really think that Canada, with its America lifestyle and fossil fuel industry is low emitting??? 💀
