What’s always gotten my curiosity are Americans having to pay taxes on their homes? how does that work… yearly? when you sell?

In Australia our universal health care contribution is 2% of your taxable income. So if you earn $80.000 your Medicare Levi is $1600 per year. That goes down if you pay private health insurance. It’s well worth the money.

The average amount of income taxes paid in australia on $80,000 is $16,350 plus $1,600 Medicare levy. We also pay 10% goods and services tax on most products but not on fresh fruit, vegetables, milk etc so I’d like to see the compatible taxes in USA and EU please.
