@Od1nFenhrir Yeah I miss the days of having HARD COPIES or the concept of playing offline. Those were the days...I don't like their extreme dev fees either.

I was too confused to tell what the conflict was about. Was it Steam taking 30%, because people have been disheartened by that for a while now. You have to decide day1 what platform or engine your game will be on so that you get the most fair profit. This is why people were soo angry with Unity because people are at a tipping point over that. But again, idk if this argument was even about that.

@3darkdescents537 Most games on steam don't have hard copies you can buy. Maybe you know a way to play a steam game without the steam client? I'm not that nerdy to figure it out, if it is a thing.

@russianmen-vb3hx Have you personally published a game on Steam? I have. There were options to pretty much participate in sales. Besides that, you have to fork out thousands for ads. I would say, "a few 100 sales" is very lucky without pouring $1k in ads min.
