This Scottish lady with a very thick accent would buy donuts from me at the bakery I work at. She said she loves them but they have a shed load of calories...I was wondering why she said that to me then later I was like " OH SHED LOAD!".

I was super impressed to see Michael have spinach in his cookbook. Then he blew us all out of the water with the heart felt message about ancestry. I almost wish he could co-host the show lol.

I don't think onions have many calories at all. Better support them with beets, or potatoes like the cookbook suggests. sausage, onion and cabbage, (and potato chunks) makes a fine meal for very cheap. Make it a soup with beef broth. pan fry some cornbread and live like a king lol.

I've worked in a bakery for 12. No one appreciates you and believes you are incompetent if the bread they are looking for sells out later in the day...My favorite is when someone believes you should know what bread they mean as they describe something that is specific to them and them only lol. Like this one man was asking me for "the bread" used for The Lord's Supper. I'm like idk...how would I know? I don't go to your exact church lol...

It did feel cutoff as it was cut off lol.
18
What a serious crime that would be. Not only to desecrate a pizza, but to cut open and waste a decorative pineapple!
17
@DamienDarksideBlog No serving God means to serve God. How can satanism have taught you to serve anything else but yourself? social services are a hand out instead of a hand up. The second one is actually useful. You must be young, you will learn and grow I'm sure.

I believe that video was the first I watched, along with building an outdoor oven. I made the baked onions for my grandma and we had a great time eating them and watching townsends videos. Her favorite was the Washer Woman series.
15
@ronmeyer5907 Those teachings didn't exist back then lol. People would peel fruit and slice potatoes against their palms.
14
Yeah way to make us all bawl our eyes out!
11
If I do that, I end up with corn on the cob, sweet peppers, and even shrimp if on sale lol.
10
@Typhoonbladefist It's very low and not enough to be a side on it's own. Beets were a bit higher. If I were broke and hungry, I would go for the most calories I could for the same money.
9
@ViolentRainbow Must be the kind you throw at people to make the "wala wala bing bang" sound lol
8
@darkfur18 It's not a hard concept. Go back and read what I said lol. I'm not going to go in circles with people over this...
7
He means because its more work, and less yum to use small ones when you have the choice of big ones. They can be sharper tasting.
6
I do that with chicago hard rolls, and hoagie rolls. It sounds like foot steps lol.
6
@Typhoonbladefist k, but again for the same money, I would go for potatoes or rice even so I don't die lol.
5
I panicked, because I work at a grocery store lol.

I remember a comment a long time ago. The lady said in the winter her family would on low heat roast sliced onions and add fresh raw honey, but not as to cook the honey too hot. It loses it's medicinal properties when you do. She said it worked magic for any sore throats or beginnings of a head cold. It's amazing what a bit of antioxidants can do for you.
5
Whatever you do, plan really early! Time has a way of slipping by and you miss out on prime growing season. IDK if you are new to gardening but a little soapy water in a spray bottle is the best pesticide. =]
5
Between your comment and this whole channel. I want to build a cobb house with a hearth and enough ceiling space to dry meats. Why don't people live like this anymore? A garden for fresh veggies to can up and you're set...
4
@Typhoonbladefist variety wouldn't be onion as your only side. It was pretty clear lol.
4
As a kid I was concerned at people eating soup with a yucky stone in it...
4
@dcsblessedbees what? is that a term for onions?
3
I like how it checked him for bugs.
3
@mahbuddykeith1124 Pineapples? why not cherries? why not cake, icecream, chocolate. Without objective morality there is only chaos!
3
@lelandwhitehead56 You can add plain flour instead of corn starch, since you are cooking it. Just make sure the flour is cooked so that it doesn't taste, like flour lol. cheers
3
@finncon4399 you can have my share of lake flavored icecream =]
3
If you hate what someone else has then you will always have nothing.
2
I bought his flavored/ infused idk olive oils as a Christmas gift for my dad. He loved every bit of it.
2
My mom grew up with the same but it was green onions.
2
@emccoy No woks have a round bottom so you can lean in over and only heat some of it while the other half of food is almost done. Making fried rice for instance. You lean it over as you incorporate the ingredients. Don't want your eggs burning.
2
I make a version of white pot, but I use cherry preserves rather than raisins. Always a hit to any home I bring it lol.
2
I thought of the baked onions recently too. My work was doing a bake sale and had a paper you could write down what you are making. I was giggling to myself imagining myself writing down baked onions just to make everyone nervous LOL...

@herbsthewerd1 I'm shocked at how low people's comprehension skills are while watching a simple video. This woman did not help the poor in many ways to keep them from rioting....at all...
1
Terry Winderweedle What do you use to grind your own corn?
1
Terry Winderweedle Sounds bulky but maybe it tastes better than store bought?
1
@redlord4321 You sound like a failure. It's not "the rich" causing problems, its those in power. You literally watched a video about rich people helping the poor with healthy and tasty food...wow
1
@redlord4321 This does not equate to rich people. You forget the other side of the spectrum of business charities like CBN that give IIRC over 90% of every dollar directly to people's needs. So a highly efficient, large money raising organization. It's ignorant people that look at someone with things they don't have and hate them for it and blame their own problems on that rich person...
1
@redlord4321 explore? Maybe you typod. You will never amount to anything with your sick mentality and its really sad. No one is evil for being rich. Communism which you love so much has killed the most people in history. Tough fact to swallow.
1
@millenial90 I don't have to read your propaganda . Anyone that believes "socialism can work THIS time guys, really!" Is either stupid or a murder. Capitalism works and is actually fair to everyone. Stop grasping at the worst idea possible and making excuses for it. It's sickening lol...
1
Why is it that anytime I hear rapid fire graphic detail of medical stuff I feel like I'm going to die. I get woozy and feel very unwell and have to lie down...I made it to 10min mark.
1
@bakachan3601 candy filling on pizza. I..I...at least use a different crust like funnel cake batter, also known to be an elephant ear. I remember when no one liked nutella. I'm going to use that as my age from now on instead of a number lol.
1
@asinatrafanatic2697 I'd keel over if I had to eat floury bland pop tarts, let alone their foods.
1
@ well I mean, you can have my share of the poptarts is all I'm sayin lol.
1
I watched a video on making bowls and water bottles out of dried gourds, now spoons out of horns. Cool stuff.
1
This episode makes me want to build a kitchen house like this. I know it's a film set but I'm calling it a kitchen house lol. I love the idea of making a house from cob but and I love the idea of cooking on a German hearth like this. Maybe someday I can make my own "kitchen house" lol.
1
@madeleinecanoesify I find that strange. At my store we make all kinds from scratch, even sourdough but it does not take time. We only have to wait for it to finish proofing, in the proof box and then bake it. The mixer(person) does make the dough for one day ahead to chill in the fridge over night. That is just so they don't have to come in an hour early.
1
I always worry about the specific water used. If it's like tap water, you are refilling the pot all day long. That is highly concentrated chemicals you now have to drink up. Well, much more concentrated than it's supposed to be straight from the tap. Bottled water = plastic, so what the heck do you use so it's not cooking down toxins into a healthy food source?
