  2. Lots of misinformed opinions here. It is widely agreed that Tenzing and Hillary were the first. The technology didn't exist before to walk into that 'death zone', and locals knew that, they didn't go that high. There are no bodies or equipment up there, and things like that last for ever up there. So yes, it is highly unlikely that anyone went up before them. When locals are asked they generaly respond with 'why would you want to do that'

  10. In an earlier part of the full show, John claims that the reason the UK is seeing an 80% increase in energy bills is because of Covid and the war in Ukraine. This is nonsense, we only get 4% of our oil from Russia, other countries get much more and also had Covid yet are not seeing anything like the rise happening here. It is because our providers are entirely private and are ensuring huge profits and money to shareholders are maintained at our expense.

  15. Always been my fav animal since I heard the story about a place that had some in captivity, where they couldn't understand why food in the cupboards kept going missing. Thinking it was a thief, they put in a camera, which caught footage of one octopus at night climbing out of its tank, sliding to and up the shelf, opening the jars, extracting food, eating it, PUTTING THE LID BACK ON, returning to the tank and CLOSING THE TANK LID AGAIN! I emphasise those two points because it reveals that the octopus was covering its tracks... so it could keep doing it. The level of understanding in that fact is astonishing. Shame they only live a few years though.

And I've spent much of the day thinking about it, we are all truly screwed, and frankly too little too late is going to be done to reverse it.
