Of course, Ezra's final conclusion is absolutely wrong; the DEMs don't need to get the centre right votes. He is conveniently forgetting that the largest voting body is the 'Didn't Vote' bloc... that's who the Dems need to attract, they are however, really bad at this.

It's happening to me on a personal level; I was pretty broadchurch before, and had a lot of centrist friends. But I can't stand their complicity in the mess we are in anymore; which resulted in furious arguements, to the point where I've given up socialising with them. I'm also resolutely anti party-politics now; I left the party I was an active member of, and now see only problems with their continued existance.

@latjolajban81 I am aware that he was making that point, obviously, but he also said clearly that the Dems had to attract the centre right to have any chance of winning. Which is bs.

Disagree. We need to stop pretending we can get along. The simple fact is, there are two very differing people now; anti authoritarians and authoritarians. The latter will never let the former live in peace. The only answer now is to separate. Civilisation has changed, and disney-dilusions that we can put everything back in the box and pretend to get along is over.
