@hungrybadgerr As an Albertan, this is how I think it will go down. They don't want eastern Canada at all.

@Orinocomplex It had nothing to do with a tariff. It was theat to cut off the electricity to the northeast states of the US. However now Trump will have American energy built to supply those states and Canada can cry over the lost income.

@JoeSmith-s7x Ford called Lutnick. The tariffs are still in place and Ford has prmoised not to try to cut off electricity to the US. Meanwhile Trump has ordered that new electricical generation needs to be provided for the north east of the US and Canada will have lost that client.

@drouinfrank2 Trump is still imposing the 25% tariff. Trump said he would add an ADDITIONAL 25% if Canada wanted to cut off the elcetricity they provide. So Ford backed down and Trump didn't need to impose the additional tariff. Trump won. Trump always wins.
