  3. They didn't rule that he "had to be released" at all! They ruled that the US should in no way interfere if El Salvador chooses to release him, and that they should allow him back into the US if he wants to be deported to another, third, location.

  5. @ Have you read the court documents? He is a citizen of El Salvador. Two separate courts in the US confirmed his deportation order. So yes, the Trump administration had 100% authority under the law to deport this guy.

He has a deportation order, so were he to re-enter the US, he will then be detained and deported to another nation that is not El Salvador. President Trump is probably making a deal with Nicaragua on this as we speak.
