In Russia they already have fasсist laws that can get you in jail for something critical of the govt, call to protest about something, even accidental Hitlеr meme. Even before that they will drain your bank account and make you unemployable in govt orgs, that’s >50% of jobs. Netflix has, like, dozens of “evil CIA” movies (that are utter BS), try releasing one film that is equally mean to FSB in Russia. If CIA was even remotely as evil as these films show, their creators would already be dead :)

  7. Soon there will be no choice: Get recruited by FSB and start doing propaganda for them, or change the job and possibly even leave the country. Maybe he already got an order to delete the videos but pretending he did that by his own will.

  9. Well, imagine an totalitarian empire where all people who weren’t afraid of speaking their minds are dead. Literally dead. And even several generations later your mother or grandmother will attack you for criticizing the government, afraid for your safety. This is how 200 mln of exUSSR people were raised. Sure, the scale is now much lower, not millions, just hundreds or thousands, but people still fear. Today, most often, a person won’t be killed or beaten, just have nice conversation with a FSB officer who will explain the possible outcomes of his behavior. And the said person will stop criticizing, start snitching on his friends in exchange for support from secret police.

  13. In USA Twitter or FB can censor president’s posts. In Russia they today passed a law that lets russian govt ban social networks for censoring russian propaganda news and fine social networks/blog platforms for not deleting user content that the govt finds offensive. Basically, if yt censors any of obvious fascist propaganda bullshit by RT etc., then the govt can ban yt in Russia. But if yt doesn’t censor the content they don’t like, from any user, will be fined. And they still can sentence some of the users they can reach to years of jail time.
