  46. You aren’t a hero for going to work in a job for which working with the sick and ailing was an existing reality. Everybody pretends that those who lost their incomes sacrifices nothing, and that those who got to keep their incomes are somehow heroic. They didn’t do it to save ppl. They didn’t do it selflessly. They did it for a wage, a wage which many Canadians were actually forced to sacrifice in order, supposedly, to save others. This is perverse manipulation and exploitation of the crisis for political points.

  50. We don’t need to bring in skilled trades. We don’t need to bring in anybody. We have plenty of ppl here who could be trained to do these jobs, and I suspect it would be cheaper to subsidize the costs of training and educating domestically than it is to absorb hundreds of thousands if newcomers a year. A young friend just got into welding and, after finding out how much he was making, his PHD neuroscience proff of a roommate started asking him about getting into the trade lol.
