@montrose699 I didn’t say take away taxes; just like I didn’t say anything about pandering to corporations. I even said that taxes are, arguably, a necessary evil. Helping those in ‘need’, however, is a nebulous proposition. When does it end? Sales taxes. Income taxes. Fuel taxes, Sin taxes, Excise taxes, Property taxes, etc. How much more do you want to take from your fellow countrymen?

@BaneRain It is absolute a handout, and I am far from rich. As a not rich person, I deem myself unfit to have kids. Can’t afford it? Don’t do it. It is that simple. Other ppl already pay to educate your kids. The least you can do is raise them till they are 6 flippin years old. If you can’t do that, then why even have them in the first place?

@montrose699 It isn’t my responsibility to pay for the raising of other ppl’s kids. Raise and care for your own children.

@montrose699 If costs are such that the avg family can’t afford it, then yes, unfortunately. Instead of robbing others to subsidize the lifestyles of others, we should instead be focusing on creating a society/economy that allows the avg couple to afford a family

@montrose699 Good for you, hero. Leave everybody else alone.

@montrose699 Tax is theft. It is arguably necessary theft, but it is literally theft. It doesn’t matter if you’re okay w being robbed. You’re still being robbed. If you think it is the way to improve society and you think it acceptable, then give every cent you can to the cause, rather than calling for and supporting theft from others because you and your ‘associates’ are okay w it.

@montrose699 Why are you making up nonsense about tax breaks to big corps?
2
@gerrys6265 I don’t think that at all (divided society of rich and poor being ideal), however, I can’t help but notice that we are gravitating further and further toward this more and more, and more taxes aren’t preventing this. Do you believe taxation will solve this issue?
2
@montrose699 You’re still going on about corps. Have you not realized yet that I agree on that front?
2
@gerrys6265 I think we are feeding that system more directly, and almost literally, by shovelling it more and more resources without accountability and transparency.

Yea, ppl have been so conditioned to rely on the state that it doesn’t even register for a lot of them that, in a well functioning society, you should be able to take care of such things on your own.

@gerrys6265 How many more taxes do you need before you start questioning the value in how your money is being spent?
1
@montrose699 This has nothing to do w companies skirting taxes, which is hardly any worse than individuals feeling entitled to the treasure of others because they want to have kids. Want to have kids? Plan for it.
1
@montrose699 Homework? Don’t need to do any research to know that it takes a pos to feel simply comfortable w leveraging the state to steal from others.

@montrose699 Are you seriously still talking about handouts to corps? Go ahead though, keep giving your money to the gov so that it can hand it over to lobbying interests then. You acknowledge the incompetents, yet you still want to give them your money. Tell me you’re a sucker without telling me you’re a sucker… Yea, costs are skyrocketing. I feel for your son, and I have been there. Would be nice if ppl like him didn’t have gov pigs digging into his pockets so that they can fill the trough, wouldn’t it? This isn’t even a matter of being pro tax or not. It is a matter of not wanting to give my money to ppl who I don’t consider responsible enough not to squander it. If I felt I wasn’t handing it all to highly corrupt system I might feel differently.

@gerrys6265 How can we expect ppl to want to ‘chip in’ in a post national state (our prime ministers words). He has won the office 2 times since then. Give me a nation, composed of a serious ppl, and I’ll be HAPPY to chip in. Give me more of what we have now (a patchwork of rivalrous competing interests w zero sense of nationhood and/or community), and I’ll keep rolling my eyes at the prospect of ‘chipping in’ to help the less fortunate. Without a serious ppl who feel beholden to each other, and who hold their ‘leaders’ to account, all we can expect is for the tax $ to be squandered purchasing votes from insular interests.
1
@gerrys6265 Taxes are theft. They may be a necessary evil, but somebody is literally coercing your resources from you, and ultimately through violence if one resists to that point. That is theft. That one might consider government a ‘legitimate’ authority means little. They are still operating under essentially a mafia model. It’s just a mafia that we have accepted, and most of us by default as a result of our place of birth.

@montrose699 I didn’t call you a sucker because you think differently from me. I called you a sucker because you want to keep giving money to the corrupt behemoth that keeps pandering to the lobbyist/corp interests, which is clearly problematic to you. You gotta walk before you can run, and right now we are not a mature and responsible enough ppl for high taxation. We can’t trust our ‘leaders’ to use it properly because we are too much of a joke of a nation to hold them accountable.

@montrose699 I could have been less belligerent. Sorry.
