@Tjd1982 Yes. Incentives are all screwed up for politicians. Great compensation doesn’t attract talented statesmen. It attracts parasitic career politicians. PP seems no different, near as I can tell

@wesfudge I’d rather ppl who aren’t incentivized by money/career run for office. I have thought about what I’m suggesting. Thx for the suggestion though!

@isuckbut906 Supporting evidence of what, precisely? That money doesn’t necessarily buy strong leadership? This doesn’t require empirical evidence, and any empirical work on the matter will be dodgy at best due to the abstract nature of statesmanship, and the difficulty in measuring a politicians performance through simple metrics. Just ask yourself if you want somebody who is there to be paid, or somebody who wants to do the right thing for the right reasons, and who considers the office an honour and privilege to hold.
