  1. Why? It’s their house. You should be ashamed of yourself for thinking they shouldn’t be able to set terms and conditions for their own property. It belongs to them. Pets damage homes. I know this because I grew up having and loving pets, but I was responsible enough not to have pets while I was renting.

  2.  @xmusicmanx1  Doesn’t matter the reason for the animal. The property owner gets to decide. I’m a landlord who purchased the place to live in. Found out the tenant was elderly and sick afterward, and he had 2 ancient cats too. Not only did I let him stay, and hated my living situation for the last two years, but I let the cats stay too despite hating cats after a lifetime if witnessing their destructive power. I did what I was willing to do for him, and I still am. He has become a friend. In the end, however, it is my property, and I get to decide what animals, if any, are allowed on the property, and that is ‘right’.

  4.  @xmusicmanx1  It isn’t abuse if a property owner protects their property. If they don’t want animals on their property that is up to them. It would be abusive to force that on the owner though.

  5. Then they need to find a property that allows pets. Its messed up that ppl here think pets should be forced onto property owners. If anything it is irresponsible to have pets if you don’t own. I wanted a dog for the longest time, but I held off because it was short sighted to have a pet as a renter.
