If the immigrants coming in are going to struggle to find housing, then it might be an indication that the immigration isn't appropriate in the first place.

@peter12246 It is good that some manage to get out of this mess.

@peter12246 Why do so many of the newcomers I speak w hate it here?

@peter12246 Ohhhh stats. Wow, nobody has ever thrown a cherrypicked stat at me before. I guess I simply must concede in the face of the all powerful stat. Studied stats and modelling long enough to know that you generally can’t trust stats and modelling outside of controlled experiments. And pride in what? We didn’t build Canada. Pride in having been born somewhere, or abandoning the problems of one place and leaving them for others to deal w? Not much of a cause for pride. Why would anybody have pride in a country that doesn’t even take itself seriously enough to force it’s politicians to answer questions and to act w integrity; opting to act or speak only when the accused wears the colours of the enemy tribe? Naa. I gauge the quality of my country by the ppl I share it w. Not much good to say about my ‘ppl’, Try having some standards instead of pride in your geographic circumstances and the material comfort that affords. Keep your consumer hive. I want a nation.

@peter12246 I didn’t get ‘stats’ from the ppl I talked to. I received anecdotes; anecdotes that one wouldn’t expect to hear so often from foreigners if Canada was all we think it is cracked up to be. Where did I refer to these as stats? I blamed neither bad decisions nor hardship on the government or anybody else. If I say I don’t like that ppl don’t train their dogs well, am I blaming my failures on untrained dogs? Do you have reading comprehension issues? As for the transparency of governments, I couldn’t really say. I’m not criticizing the government though. I criticized my fellow citizen and their lack of standards. The gov will do w/e we let them get away w. Finally, moving isn’t simple. This is especially true when it comes to moving to another country. You already know this though. That being said, I have plans.

@peter12246 “Do you understand that your numbers mean nothing” Do you understand that I provided no numbers? “When did your state become facts” Again, Pete, I provided no stats. I provided anecdotes. Reading comprehension issues, or what?

@peter12246 I didn’t do a survey. I provided no numbers or stats. I talked w coworkers, friends, and customers, and casually relayed some anecdotes. I’m not even ‘on the right’ lol. Think before running your mouth. Be less partisan. Thank me later.

@peter12246 Most of them seem to be planning to. Retiring back home once they make their $ here. Many are sending as much $ as they can back home so that they can return to a great life in a country they want to be in. One was building a tidy little food stall empire back home w his brother. Canada was just a stepping stone in their plans. As for hate, most don’t actually ‘hate’ it so much as they find it dull or lacking in community. Cost of food (especially produce) is a common complaint. An Egyptian truly did hate it here, but said his kids had grown up a bit and had lives and he didn’t want to pull them away from that. A Kenyan I roomed w during a work term couldn’t wait to finish his studies and go home. Said all we do is work, and that we don’t know how to live or appreciate life. I concede that hate was a bit hyperbolic in most instances, but I wasn’t thinking it would be taken so literally either. Anyway, are you done making stuff up and obsessing over minor details yet?
