  3.  @VanThieu  Maybe they should. Where one draws the line will be highly subjective, however, I personally don’t consider the two scenarios comparable. Were we still running residential schools, then I’d likely agree. Point is, if Canada is going to act high and mighty when it comes to human rights, then as consumers we can’t also just export our negative human rights externalities to other places by shifting our consumerism from ‘humane’ market to ‘non-humane’ market. It’s just ‘not in my backyard’ sort of thinking.

  4.  @VanThieu  We aren’t just talking about shipping manufacturing overseas. There is more implied in ‘doing business’ than just outsourcing some labour.
