It’s to streamline social assistance by wrapping it in one neat package. At least that’s what the initial arguments for it were. Now it’s UBI on top of the existing social welfare apparatus?

  3. Marcus Donahue Maybe read the sentences that followed... “It’s to streamline social assistance by wrapping it up it one neat (lol typo ‘meat’ ) package”. This was the initial case for UBI. It was proposed as a means of minimizing the admin/bureaucratic costs associated with a complex patchwork of programs while maintaining equivalent utility/value. Now it’s income in addition to the existing welfare apparatus.

  4. starvingartistmc That’s quite the assumption to make. You sure do take things for granted huh? Also, nowhere did I say it is, or should be, going away, but the future of universal health care is neither guaranteed, nor is it a ‘basic fact’. Basic facts from a basic thinker.
