  1. A question for the ‘outraged’ among us. If you ran a large company or organization and you were in a similar situation in which the opportunity was available to settle out of court, would you not do so? What exactly is it that ppl expect from these individuals running hockey Canada? Are they to be your commissars, policing the attitudes and thoughts of their members?

  4.  @allsaints1951  Whether it is criminally prosecuted should probably be up to the victim, no? Ppl settle out of court all the time for all sorts of things. Should we just plug up the courts even further when there is no need?

  5.  @allsaints1951  If the victim doesn’t want it to go through court, why does it matter? I guess the tldr of my response is, if the victim doesn’t care enough to go to court, and they are willing to take money for it, then why do you care so much, and why should I? I don’t need to know much about criminal vs civil, or the justice system in general, in order to observe ppl caring way too much about something so commonplace simply because the news media tells them to. We’re so well trained that we’ll even take the PM seriously when he says a leadership change is needed at Hockey Canada, even despite his own out of court settlement involving unknown events w a minor from his teaching days. Sure though, go after the leaders of big bad hockey Canada for buying ppl off, as if this isn’t business as usual today. You think the news organizations making hay of this haven’t acted similarly? Don’t be naive.
