@incipidsigninsetup It goes so much deeper than cheap labour, but yea, that is certainly one of the perks for the asset class.

@bradcanning875 Yea, and my old man dropped out in grade 9, went into the wrong building for an interview, got a better job as a result, enjoyed a wonderful and rewarding career, and is now retired w a great pension. The city police were also trying to hire him at the time. Ppl now struggle to even get a rejection email in spots like these now, let alone an interview, and much less a job. Keep pretending your generation was so much better and harder, as if they didn’t raise the generation(s) you like to lord yourself over, you big tough guy you.

@prophetofthe8th My father used to fight w me on this stuff all the time. He bought into all of it. Then he retired and went back into the labour market to stay active and socialized. He doesn’t fight w me on any of it anymore, and he certainly doesn’t drop the ‘Canadians are too lazy for the jobs’ line anymore. I recently bought a place but haven’t been able to move in because the tenant is an elderly man and there is NOWHERE here for him to move to, and prices are too high even if there were vacancies, yet they’re building more fast food joints and importing workers for them despite housing crises in my town and the surrounding towns and municipalities.
