  4.  @erichoughton4128  Why base it all on their jobs? A good leader can be found in all sorts of places. You want somebody who has lived off the taxpayer their whole life?

  5.  @erichoughton4128  Well, you’re being condescending to every other profession/job, so why not tack those on as well? Again, you can find “brilliant leaders” in all sorts of places. No reason to think you’re better off with somebody who can’t do anything but mix and mingle on our dime.

  6.  @erichoughton4128  No, we need a leader at the helm. Things weren’t as divisive and nuts under Chretien and Harper, and Harper is an economist. You can’t chalk it all up to their time in politics. Things have gone downhill everywhere, and it isn’t a result of there not being enough career politicians, imo. I’d pin it more on the globalization of industry, which ramped up international demand for resources, and the changes in culture/society stemming from a shift from ppl living in reality to ppl living on the internet. Many would also disagree that things weren’t that bad under Harper (I’d agree with you though).
