  7.  @derekeliopoulos2670  A couple more examples came to mind at work today Normally it takes years of work to become a lead hand here, but corporate said our dept needs diversity in management, so they transplanted some diversity into the role in the form of a female. She isn’t even allowed to do a lot of the work because she is too small and weak and they fear she will get hurt, and she has little idea what she is doing because she has zero experience, but she is paid more than the ppl around her anyway. Sound like ‘strength’ to you? They also hired another lady onto the weekend crew cuz corporate wants more women here. She is also incapable of doing the work, but is being promoted ahead of her male counterparts so that they can put her somewhere where she can be useful, which means the experienced guys who can actually do the work are literally held back from advancement due to their relative competence. Does this sort of discrimination sound like a strength, or like it is conducive to anything good, to you? Then there is the issue of Canada’s abysmal workforce productivity. Turns out chucking labour at the market doesn’t magically make everybody rich, especially when you are focusing on diversity over merit, and failing to match the forced expansion of labour supply w likewise expansions in capital investment. Then there are the more explicit costs associated w manufacturing your beloved diversity, such as our housing crisis, and our stressed public services. Tell me all about how it makes us strong though.
