@autisticfieldmarshall1006 I’ve argued for a while that paying a lot for politicians doesn’t make sense. It isn’t like in finance where economic incentives work and you have clear performance metrics. In governance, you don’t get ‘talent’ by dangling the $ carrot, as ppl chasing $ and a career are the worst ppl to have in office.
