  2. Rocky johnson Really? These ppl didn’t quit their jobs. They were lost because society panicked and shut them down. It wasn’t a choice, and now the economy has contracted as a result, meaning many won’t have jobs to go back to, all because the ‘experts’ and our ‘leaders’ were more concerned with cuddling China than they were with actually protecting Canadians.

Trevor Liu Most would, yet they will be called lazy freeloaders for accepting this fraction of their incomes (pre tax lol) after their livelihoods were torched by society in the name of the ‘greater good’. Many have nothing to go back to now, and our ‘experts’ didn’t even manage to protect the portion of the population that was actually vulnerable (the elderly in care homes). What a waste it seems it all was.

  6. Dougie Drums Locking down ppl and the economy was already the opposite of “letting the chips fall where they fall”. Society made a call and sacrificed people’s livelihoods. Now society has a responsibility to help those ppl out their Ives back together. We should have let the chips fall by the looks of it, but we didn’t. We (our ‘authorities’) didn’t listen to good advice, bent over for China, then panicked and forced millions out of their jobs. Society democratically f’d up and now society is responsible for picking up the pieces.

  7. Remember during 2014 when Trudeau promised $600 million in funding to ‘select’ media outlets should be win office? Now, legitimate outlets, with all their super journalists and all the integrity that comes with that, should have called that out for the sleazy palm greasing that it was. They didn’t though, cuz he’s their bud and he was offering them $. The Canadian voter should have been enraged, but we are apathetic, tribal, sheep like creatures who like to only feign interest in politics when it benefits us socially, stroked our egos, and/or complements our ideological stripes. Canada deserves what it gets.

  8. It should have been based on income, but that would have been hard to do on such a tight time frame. Ppl should have to have voluntarily selected from a list of income levels to determine payout, and it all could have been investigated later. Now, so long as you earned $417/month in 2018, you get $2,000/month now. Did you make $8,000/month in 2018? Doesn’t matter, you still get only $2,000 now, just like the kid with no bills working twice a week at the grocery store for a few hours.
