  8. David Cetin Home prices are hitting record highs, yet we are mid pandemic still. I agree 100% with your assertion that exploitation of the immigration system is the real key concern. I was sincerely asking though how it is that ‘modern’ monetary policy allows for the circumvention of the erosion of economic incentives in the face of something like UBI.

  12. d rabbit white What you are proposing would require international harmonization of tax and royalty regimes. The reason big businesses often skate with regards to taxes is because jurisdictions compete for their presence and production. It’s not as easy as simply cutting subsidies, taxing rich people heavily, and handing out free money to the peasants. I agree that it sucks when the Amazon’s skate and small business ends up picking up the tax burden, but it’s tough to avoid at times when they hold all the cards.
