The war Russia started by funding separatist movements and supplying them not only with equipment, but with Russian soldiers? While also annexing Crimea in the process? You can say the coup d’état was staged by a foreign entity all you want. It will still never be true. It’s obvious. This was something the people wanted. They cheered to join the EU before any revolution was decided. The president decided not to join the EU last moment in favor of siding with Russia. THEN the people revolted. They even started peacefully protesting. When it got nowhere is when they began fighting back against the federal government. 2,500 people, in a country with 40+ million can do nothing. Especially when they didn’t exist yet. Also they were first formed in Mariupol. Far far away from Kyiv. And honestly, can you blame them for hating the Russians? After everything that happened to Ukrainians under the USSR?

After that leader was ousted, Russia started the war in the Donbas by sending in Russian forces and funding a Separatist movement to disguise their forces. Ukraine literally did exist before the forming of the USSR. It actually was Russia Prime (Kyiven Rus) lmao. Ukraine has more claim to Russian land than Russia has to Ukrainian land.
