The reporter was standing at restricted place. Today China is more free than USA. Freedom does not mean you have a gun and you are free to kill your neighbor and threaten minorities. Real freedom is freedom from crime, poverty and homelessness. Freedom from fear that your child will come back home safe from school. Freedom from corrupt politicians. Freedom from lobbyists who have their own agendas and give damn about welfare of common people. China is the safest country in the world and richest right now not to mention they have best dams, best bridges, best airports, best highways, best subways, best roads and best trains. It's a society that runs at high speed and constantly progressing for the better future for themselves as well as for the world.

@brendanharris7179 watch some youtube videos about chinese cities, towns, villages, tourist attractions and shopping malls plus 5000 year old civilization and wisdom. All cities are livable, wide, bright, paved with bike lanes, pedestrian ways, parks and ease of transportation and no crime. Or better go and live there then you will know by yourself.

@Ron Willis Hey they are capitalists under the guise of communism. You can drink liquor anywhere in China and keep the open bottle in your hands while open bottle is totally banned in US. They will arrest you. Now tell me which country is more free. Real freedom is freedom from poverty, crime and homelessness. Freedom from fear that your child will come home safe. @HelloWelcome2024 All the present days relationship between the countries are based on history. Armenia- Azerbaijan since 1000 years fighting, still going. Ottoman Empire- Romans, Mongols- middle east and asia and Japan- China occupation. Argentina- Britain falkland wars, USA had head tax on chinese when they were making railroads in 1800s USA. Internet, face book, twitter etc are used to mobilize masses against non-democratic countries. All the arab countries have censored all these social medias. American never said anything about it. India has censored all this social media thousands of times especially in Jammu & kashmir. America never uttered a word. Canadian truckers are using social media against Trudeau govt and their GoFundMe 10M has been confiscated. China is a 5000 years old civilization. It's a family oriented and a society that do sacrifices for the collective good of the society. 80% of world's countries are non-democratic. Chinese have their own strong social media for 1.4 b people. 149M visited abroad from china in 2019 as tourists and all came back and plus they are very happy with their govt that works for people that's why they became so powerful and now richest only in the 40 years. And they also had their religious saints. They also have temples. They are a unique combination of capitalism, socialism, 5000 years old wisdom , strong social values and spiritual beliefs. Now why they would toe USA line while USA is only 240 years with no remarkable history.
