@mts7274 this is simply not true. We all know now that different animals are dependent on a species correct gut microbiome to digest plant matter, and to some extent, animal matter. Acidity in the digestive juices also matter. It is not as simple as "eating like and ape, horse, or ruminate.

@mts7274 you said they were mostly plant based. Except for apes, this is not true for your other named examples. I would guess they prefer meat to plant foods, eating those as a last resort. Much like humans. I can tell you, the raccoons that plague my farm go for animal protein every chance they get. 😔 Some very expensive meals. More expensive than I've ever had the luxury of! 😪 The bears....it may depend. Those getting ready for hibernation may actually focus on carbs and especially fructose.

I had to turn this off. They simplify this complicated subject too much! As a 68 year old woman who has been plagued with unrelenting weight struggles my whole life, this info is useless to me. Maybe serves a 40 year old guy....IDK... But vegetarianism got me fat and sick. Still mopping up issues with surgeries and therapies. At 63 I went low carb. It was miraculous. Now at 68, I have dropped all oxalate containing foods, increased meat protein, and feel better than ever!
