And We (Allah) decreed to the Children of Israel in the Book, that twice would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance! When the first of the warnings came to pass, We (Allah) sent against you (Children of Israel) Our servants given to terrible warfare. They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled. Then did We (Allah) grant you (Children of Israel) the Return as against them (our slaves): We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power. If ye (Children of Israel) did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second promise will come to pass, (We/Allah shall permit our slaves/your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter the Masjed as they had entered it before, and to subdue your arrogance. It may be that your (Children of Israel's) Lord (Allah) may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins) We (Allah) shall revert (to Our punishments): and We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.

  4. Filip Macuka, Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. Say (O Muhammad): "To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth?" Say: "To Allah. He prescribed Mercy for Himself. Indeed He will gather you together on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. Those who have lost themselves will not believe. And the disbelievers swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that if there came to them a sign, they would surely believe therein. Say: "Signs are but with Allah and what will make you (Muslims) perceive that even if it the sign came, they will not believe?" And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam; and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Thus Allah puts the wrath on those who believe not. O Children of Adam! Let not Satan deceive you, as he got your parents out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiment, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and his tribe see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the devils protectors and helpers for those who believe not. Verily, the worst among the moving (living) creatures according to Allah are those who disbelieve - so they shall not believe. Thus is the Word of your Lord justified against those who rebel (disobey Allah) that they will not believe. Truly! Those, against whom the Word of your Lord has been justified, will not believe. And even if We (Allah) had sent down unto them angels, and the dead had spoken unto them, and We had gathered together all things before their very eyes, they would not have believed, unless Allah willed, but most of them behave ignorantly. Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and the earth," but evidence, verses, signs, revelations and warnings do not benefit those who believe not. Can they who rely on a clear proof from their Lord, and whom a witness from Him recites it be equal with the disbelievers; and before it, came the Book of Moses, a guidance and a mercy; they believe therein, but those of the sects that reject the Quraan, the Fire will be their meeting-place. So be not in doubt about it. Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of mankind believe not. And say to those who do not believe: "Act according to your ability and way, We are acting (our way). Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Râ. These are the Verses of the Book (the Quraan), and that which has been revealed unto you from your Lord is the truth, but most men believe not. Verily, the Hour (Day of Judgment) is surely coming, there is no doubt about it, yet most men believe not. And even if We had sent down unto you a Message written on paper so that they could touch it with their hands, the disbelievers would have said: "This is nothing but obvious magic!" And they say: "Why has not an angel been sent down to him?" Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been judged at once, and no respite would be granted to them. And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have tricked them with that which they tricked themselves. They swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would believe in it. Say, "The signs are only with Allah." ... even if a sign came, they would not believe. We will manipulate their hearts and eyes just as they did not believe in it the first time, and leave them in their transgression... Even if We (Allah) sent down to them the angels and the dead spoke to them and We gathered every thing before them, THEY WOULD NOT BELIEVE unless Allah wills, but most of them are ignorant.

For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the torment of Hell: and evil is (such) destination. When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, {8} تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ Almost bursting with fury: every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, `Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are in nothing but an egregious delusion!'" They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence/reason, we would not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" They will then confess their guilt: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire.
