  1. In this context one should remember that Israel (then under hardliner Ariel Sharon) evacuated Israeli settlers in Gaza. More important is that Israel evacuated south Lebanon OVERNIGHT. Soon will the Israeli settlers in the "occupied" territories of Palestine be evacuating these illegal settlements, most probably OVERNIGHT. By the will of Allah Israel will discover that they have been building homes for the Palestinians whom the Israelis turned into refugees living in camps, and also those Palestinians whom Israel unjustly demolished their homes over the years. هُوَ الَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ لأَوَّلِ الْحَشْرِ مَا ظَنَنْتُمْ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ مَانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُونُهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ فَأَتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوا وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ يُخْرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُمْ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْدِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَاعْتَبِرُوا يَا أُولِي الأَبْصَارِ 2. He (Allah) it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Banû An-Nadîr) from their homes at the first instance of gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allâh! But Allâh’s (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers.   2. {4} وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي الْكِتَابِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا And We (Allah) decreed to the Children of Israel in the Book, that twice would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance! {5} فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ أُولَاهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَنَا أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُوا خِلَالَ الدِّيَارِ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَفْعُولًا When the first of the warnings came to pass, We (Allah) sent against you (Children of Israel) Our servants given to terrible warfare. They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled. {6} ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَاكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا Then did We (Allah) grant you (Children of Israel) the Return as against them (our slaves): We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power. {7} إِنْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ وَإِنْ أَسَأْتُمْ فَلَهَا فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الْآخِرَةِ لِيَسُوءُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَلِيَدْخُلُوا الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوهُ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِيرًا If ye (Children of Israel) did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second promise will come to pass, (We/Allah shall permit our slaves/your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter the Masjed as they had entered it before, and to subdue your arrogance. {8} عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يَرْحَمَكُمْ وَإِنْ عُدْتُمْ عُدْنَا وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا It may be that your (Children of Israel's) Lord (Allah) may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins) We (Allah) shall revert (to Our punishments): and We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.

  3. Israel has been declared a Jewish state by law. Israel now demands that everyone should recognize the state as such or else be punished under the provisions of the law. In this case, the Israelis are claiming to be what they are not, hence the punishment in the verses will be applicable to them. The general divine rule is as follows: {8} عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يَرْحَمَكُمْ وَإِنْ عُدْتُمْ عُدْنَا وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا It may be that your (Children of Israel's) Lord (Allah) may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins) We (Allah) shall revert (to Our punishments): and We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.

Consequently, Allah has deafened your ears, blinded your eyes and sealed your heart so that you may not understand the Quraan. Who does more wrong than he who is reminded of his Lord's verses, but turns away from them, forgetting what his hands have sent forth. WE (Allah) SET VEILS ON THEIR HEARTS LEST THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE QURAAN, AND IN THEIR EARS, DEAFNESS. IF YOU CALL THEM TO GUIDANCE, THEY WILL NEVER BE GUIDED. Your Lord is Most Forgiving, Owner of Mercy. Were He to charge them for what they have earned, He would have hastened their punishment. But they have their appointed time, beyond which they will find no escape.
