So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We (Allaah) sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled. Then We (Allaah) gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower. "If you (Jews) do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves." Then when the final promise becomes due, [We (Allaah) shall send out your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the Massjid (Al-Aqssaa), as they entered it the first time, and to destroy (your) haughtiness with [total] destruction. It may be that your (Jews) Lord (Allaah) will have mercy on you, but if you repeat (the crime) We (Allaah) shall repeat (the punishment), and We (Allaah) have appointed Jahannam a dungeon for the disbelievers.
