We are in fact his well-wishers. (11) Let him go out with us tomorrow that he may enjoy and play. We shall take care of him." (12) He said: "I am afraid of sending him with you lest a wolf should devour him when you are unmindful." (13) They replied: "If a wolf should devour him when we are there, a well-knit band, we shall certainly be treacherous." (14) So, when they took him out they planned to throw him into an unused well. We revealed to Joseph: "You will tell them (one day) of this deed when they will not apprehend it." (15) At nightfall they came to their father weeping, (16) And said: "We went racing with one another and left Joseph to guard our things when a wolf devoured him. But you will not believe us even though we tell the truth." (17) They showed him the shirt with false blood on it. (Their father) said: "It is not so; you have made up the story. Yet endurance is best. I seek the help of God alone for what you impute." (18)

So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We (Allaah) sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled. Then We (Allaah) gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower. "If you (Jews) do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves." Then when the final promise becomes due, [We (Allaah) shall send out your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the Massjid (Al-Aqssaa), as they entered it the first time, and to destroy (your) haughtiness with [total] destruction. It may be that your (Jews') Lord (Allaah) will have mercy on you, but if you repeat (the crime) We (Allaah) shall repeat (the punishment), and We (Allaah) have appointed Jahannam a dungeon for the disbelievers.
