Relate (O Muhammad) in the Book (the story of) Maryam, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place. She (Maryam) placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We (Allaah) sent to her Our angel (Jibreel), and he appeared before her as a man in all respects. And the pains of childbirth drove her (Maryam) to the trunk of a palm tree: she cried (in her anguish) "Ah! Would that I had died before this! Would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!" But (a voice) cried to her from beneath her: "Grieve not! For thy Lord (Allaah) hath provided a rivulet beneath thee; "And shake towards thyself (O Maryam) the trunk of the palm-tree; it will let fall fresh, ripe dates upon thee. "So eat and drink and cool (O Maryam thine) eye. And if thou dost see any person, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (Allaah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being'" (At length) She (Maryam) brought him (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms).   3. Not just age, or puberty, but also menses. Not biology, but The Creator decides for his creation. Biology is not outside The Creator's control. Not social life that decides, it is The Creator who sets the rules because there is a life in the afterlife.
