It just played Ukraine just like Georgia in 2008 when the US/NATO dangled NATO membership but when the sh#t hit the fan they left them hanging dry. The same thing with Ukraine. Gas price 2 years ago was $250 per 1k cubic meters and now it's $1500 per 1k cubic meters. Europe didn't stop pumping gas and oil from Russia, they closed Nordstream II, they never used it but Nordstream II operates at full capacity. So when Putin announced Russia will sell gas for rubles the rate $1US went from 120 rubles to 90 rubles. So we will see in a few months how solid is NATO alliance is.
