  10. Tinnitus also the bane of pilots (especially with older jet/turbine platforms), racecar drivers & mechanics. One can always tell ''high time'' old pilots by their dual hearing aids.

  11. Rick, you alluded to the visual aspect as more impactful than auditory to younger generations. As a seven decade western man, I've noticed that too. Of note: 41 yrs as a commercial (fixed wing/rotor/glader) pilot & flt instructor have seen the intro of "glass cockpits" (ie all data on three or four screen) as "steam gauges" (older aircraft with array of seperate & dedicated round gauges) have dissapeared. Paradox: a pilot (or student pilot) who learned in aircraft with "steam gauges" easily transitions to a glass (multi function ) display. BUT someone who exclusively learned on glass displays CANNOT (backed up by FAA inspectors/pilot & flt instructors experiences) adapt/operate an aircraft with "steam gauges". The "steam gauge" (individual source) data streams appear to overwhelms their visual uptake. Probably not related to anything. I'm just an old guy who cannot play a note of music with decades of observations as technologies speed up "delivery systems". Thank you for all you do & provide.

  13. "Jump the shark" moment: Bhad Bhabre [sp?]. Acquaintances who thought they knew 'whose who' in rap were blindsided by the millions of records [is 'record' still a relevant demarcation?] the teen had sold. Reality image presence transcends any need for content. Btw the $$$ buying up the catalogs is on par w/[Warren] Buffet's model of buying cash flow oriented companies (ie 🍎 ), which has had no innovation but throws off tons of cash through services.
