Mash potato or pumpkin mixed with a raw beaten egg to bind it and a protein (anything from leftover meat to clearance finds to lentils or beans or canned fish etc) can make lovely patties, balls or even toppings. Mixed vegetables with gravy or cheese sauce with a mash potato type topping makes a great "shepherds pie" type option which can be frozen and reheated. Grabing clearance mushrooms and other fresh produce and preserving it by making "freezer meals" can save alot of money and stress over time.

Roast a whole cauliflower. Cover in a large saucepan with a can of coconut cream or coconut milk. Add enough stock (bullion cube and water or homemade stock. I use one chicken bullion and one vegetable bullion). Simmer until soft. Add curry powder to taste. Mash with a potato masher (chunky soup) or blend for a smooth soup. Serve with clearance bread rolls made into homemade garlic bread. Buy clearance cream and beat until it becomes butter. Add fresh parsley from a pot plant or garden or use dry parsley (full of vitamins) and garlic to the butter. Butter any stale bread or bread rolls. Wrap in foil and freeze so you have garlic bread ready to bake when needed.
