Yes, well he would say that wouldn't he.
What else can he say?
How long has he been in the job?
He's as clueless as the last one - he's no experience of the situation and will be clueless about what to do, to stop the proposed action.
This government have screwed the nation's workers and then they blame the workers, when they have had enough and stand up for themselves, in the only way open to them!
The oil companies, with the governments blessing, have raised the prices to sky high and then post sky high profits.
Do they think this can continue, without any outcry?
Is there anybody (at all?) in this rich man's government that understands that the voting public are at the end of their tether and that strikes, industrial action and other forms of protest will inevitably increase, in number, for as long as the politicians studiously ignore the feelings of their electorate?

Another bloody amateur, tinkering with things that he does not fully understand, yet is arrogant enough to pretend, that he does.
If he had any decency, honesty and integrity, he would ignore the likelihood that most of his shabby political party and most of the ridiculous opposition will have shares in the oil companies, that are posting embarrassing profits, while the country is struggling badly.
He would levy a massive tax on them - which would eliminate the need to over-tax the already desperate, struggling, population.
Do his "horrible decisions" remotely influence his millionaire and billionaire cronies and people who are paying him to turn a blind eye to them?
It's funny that politicians STILL think that the public still believe them when they say the word "WE", when what is actually meant (and WE know it!), is "YOU the vulnerable, struggling, tax-paying majority.
Because idiots like him are so out of touch with real people, does he not realise that attacking the incomes of people like this, fuels the black and the grey economy?
Expect more people to be saying "cash only" - plumbers, builders, joiners, kitchen-fitters, small businesses etc - just like the Chinese takeaway do.
The takeaways realised that what isn't detected or declared can't be taxed.
