Is Reeves both stupid AND naïve?
Sorry, I will start again......
BECAUSE Reeves is both stupid and naïve she does not understand that “throwing money” at the NHS (and publicizing it, for P.R. purposes) will solve nothing.
The money will disappear into the pot that is being constantly squandered and will continue to be squandered, due to incompetence, lack of understanding and poor management.
Why do politicians always think that money solves all problems? Is it indicative of their lack of understanding, their detachment, from reality or is it just just a quick fix to try to fool the gullible?
The NHS is broken – as we all know – so money, alone, is not the answer Reeves!.
Too many sinecures, in top management, poor purchasing decisions, poor (or no) communication with the front line, too much money wasted, too many people not doing their jobs for the benefit of the patients. It REALLY is the old “chiefs” and “indians” situation,
Undervalued, overworked nursing staff and ward staff and overpaid senior doctors (who fluctuate between the hospitals and the private sector) and stressed A&E medics trying to cope with an overload of patients and ridiculous waiting times.
On a recent, unfortunate trip to A&E (we were there nine and a half hours!), I counted nineteen patients on trolleys in majors and both seated waiting rooms were overloaded.
None of the trolley patients had pillows – I tried to get one for an elderly lady, who was in a lot of pain but the nurse on the desk said that they had no pillows, in the department – this was the same in December 24, when we were there for eleven and a half hours!
Money is needed -of course it is - but before just transferring it to the NHS pot, hospital (trust???) management needs revising and trimming and competent people rewarded and dead wood removing.
Top heavy – with wasters and slackers, getting the obscenely large and largely undeserved wages, while the brilliant ward staff are working non-stop to try to compensate for the inefficiencies and incompetence of NHS management.
We ALL know this to be true and the government knows this to be true – will somebody there try to give Reeves a nudge in the right direction – as she appears to be totally clueless.
