  93. My wife was, recently, taken into A&E, she waited 8 hours to be seen and I counted 31 people in trollies, in the corridor and every bay in the emergency room was full and people (nurses, doctors, helpers) were rushing around like blue-arsed flies- WORKING under a lot of pressure. Overworked under-resourced and under-staffed. My wife and I waited another four hours, for her to get a bed. I got home after 13 hours! There were 9 ambulances outside with patients in them and empty ambulances with crews waiting inside A&E, for their patients to be triaged, before they could go! MILLIONS wasted on PPE and PPE scams (Michelle Mone") - and nowhere near enough money being put in to relieve situations, like the one that I have described. This is common to virtually all NHS hospitals. When mistakes get made - there is always a search for an internal scapegoat - ignoring the real basis of the majority of most NHS problems - working conditions, staffing and pay. People FORCED (by necessity of the circumstances - understaffing) to work two consecutive shifts - and it WAS happening - are likely to make mistakes - they are tired and they are human! The money IS there to really make the NHS effective, but the government, instead of action, set up committees which allocate the money to their pals - and the improvements remain just something to be talked about. Yes, the nurses and ambulance crews need decent remuneration BUT the action is aimed at highlighting and getting action on, all these other issues that are making the NHS appear to be less effective, than the health workers know, that it can be and should be.

  243. How sad that it has come to this! People are fed up with being told, by incompetent politicians that times are going to be hard and we will " just have to weather the storm". The storm has been brewing for a long time. The poor examples, set by so many members of this corrupt, self-centred government are responsible for the attitude, by the electorate that "enough is enough"! The nest-feathering, the dirty deals, the PPE scandals, the money for pals, the lockdown parties (NO people have NOT forgotten them - nor the many Tories that attended), the lies and the subsequent lying denials, the two sets of rules etc etc They, the selfish, ineffective, time servers in The House of Commons (both sides!), don't care about the country nor the people - so inevitably and understandably "The People", will start to act. This should be a warning, not just to this vile and crooked government but to any future government that thinks it can operate outside the rules of common decency, honesty and accountability - your time has passed! The, seemingly "accepted dishonesty of politicians" (amongst themselves and their rich money-elite), is unacceptable to the electorate and politicians cannot continue to act as if honesty and integrity were not applicable, to them. Britain needs a new type of government - one that works for the good of the people and for the good of the country. That should not be a revolutionary idea - but it IS, to the current "government". No more bloated plutocrats as M.P.s and no more millionaires as corrupt and corruptible Prime Ministers, who fill their cabinet with their "dodgy" pals. Britain has every right to expect a government to make this a great nation, for every citizen and not just a money pot for the rich and the even richer British people should be able vote for a Prime Minister EVERY TIME - not to have to suffer the pronouncements of a richer than rich amateur, who lost the vote (by Parliament!) first time around. People NEED and DESERVE a decent living wage - not just a basic wage to cover the bills (something that Sunak would NEVER understand) but he expects the population to accept the anticipated winter suffering! WHY? The Tories are squirrelling millions away in businesses with their pals, money channelled into "offshore accounts" (Michelle Mone!) and casual hand-outs of millions happen far too often. OUR money given freely, without accountability, to Tory pals! The money IS available - if it wasn't, these rich people scams could not happen!!! That is money that belongs to the people, not a rich handful of political supporters and "enablers"! SO "Squirrell" it back into the economy - HELP the British people GENUINELY - not with a few "low-cost" handouts! Cut the crippling bills, reduce food prices, drastically cut fuel taxes and pay decent wages. It CAN be afforded - if we can "afford" to lose millions and millions on Tory PPE cockups and hand-outs, and not worry about it (well, they aren't - are they?) After all, politicians received a nice increase - that THEY voted on and then, on top of that, there are the second homes (for business indeed!) and there are all the expenses fiddles! This WILL be a winter of discontent - because people have had enough, don't have enough money are revolted by the wastage of public money and are sick of being treated as fools.
