That is a problem with totalitarian regimes no one can speak up to the people in power that they are setting unrealistic policy.

Who care about history the people written in them are already dead. History does not feed the hungry.

ASEAN is very clear about their goals no intervention. ASEAN is not a union.
2
@adriannugraha6308 ASEAN is not a union. It is merely an organization so that different nations can talk to each other and coordinate their efforts but. It is clearly written in the ASEAN pact that it cannot intervene in internal affairs. ASEAN has no police force it has no military force. It's mean purpose is communication. You are expecting a mere telephone to save the day.

There are no Talibans in Myanmar are you high?

@BladerINCThe_Hope Apples are less evil than chickens. Pointless comparison.

Almost all ASEAN members are probably thinking that taking care of refugees is a lot lesser responsibility than taking care of one whole country.
2
If you know all that then why would you think that they will interfere. To interfere is to dissolve the ASEAN pact.
2
@exodusofpolitics6496 ASEAN will not be contender to EU unless you limit the scope to only economics. Political commonality do not exist in South East Asia. They can work together for the common good but they have no common principle. Which is why non interference is a sacred principle in the ASEAN pact because that is the only principle that all the members can agree with.
2
ASEAN is very important economic bloc but it is not a treat. This being not a treat benefits them in trade agreements.

Refugee crisis happens a lot. I don't think ASEAN nations considers it a big problem. It will be a headache but not a doom level threat. It is the same with military threat. The Myanmar is not a threat.

China doing military intervention will mobilized all the neighboring country to the other side. China might be a big economic power but. A lot of countries are confident enough to challenge China militarily. India is very willing to challenge China and they will not be very happy of Chinese military adventuring in that region. Keeping Myanmar independent from China is strategically important for India
1
If China jumps in then India will also jump in. Also Myanmar is an ASEAN member so a Chinese intervention will force other ASEAN member to take action. ASEAN is ignoring the situation as long as it remains and internal conflict but if China sends troops then it becomes a regional concern.

Just it existing is impossible enough.
