@Maikowski Funny how you think America's illegal sanction is the Law.

So after USA screwed you over you go to China and ask them to do the same?

It is to late now they fired their Ambassador to China. The only person who knows how to appease China and have enough political power that China will listen to. Firing him is a signal to China that Canada have no intention to negotiate and compromise. This will spiral into a full blown trade war. And the reason is failure of understanding on how China see's things. China thinks the arrest of Huawie's CFO is politically motivated due to Huawie's advance 5G technology. Firing of Canada's ambassador to China is seen as confirmation of their suspicion. There is no reason to fire the ambassador if it really is all about the rule of law and not political. Ambassador have nothing to do with rule of law their job is politics. You cannot argue that it is not political when you fire your ambassador for saying inconvenient things.

You are still thinking about wrong or right while China is thinking of profitable or not. China's reason is simple you mess with our business we mess with yours. It is mafia policy but that is how they operate. And unless you have enough guns to tangle with their thugs you better stay far away from their business. The only iffy part about this is that USA push Canada into messing with China's business. And now Canada is left dealing with China's thugs while USA run away into a clean escape.

@extragirth64 You don't understand Chinese culture. In China it is natural that some people have priviledge it is only an issue if that person abused those priviledge. So the CFO from powerful company have priviledge and it was not properly shown she have abuse her priviledge. So the arrest is seen as abuse of priviledge from Canadian authority. This misunderstanding is the reason for this debacle. Canada's justification of rule of law is just seen as abuse of priviledge. They should show her abuse of priviledge before the arrest becomes justified.

@extragirth64 To China this is a domestic concern. Imagine in a kingdom and when your princess was traveling to other nation then some nation decide to imprison her for vague reasons of slight. There will be immediate calls for war and the king has to do something or the people in his kingdom would riot. This situation is similar but muted. Huawei CFO's priviledge is not as high as a princess but high enough that the Chinese government would not be seen as ignoring it. Then imagine that after a nation imprisoned the kingdoms princess they recalled their head ambassador to the kingdom. Now the situation is more serious. Everyone would assume that war is coming. What did Canada do fire their ambassador. That would be equivalent to ancient era of recalling ambassadors. Chinese government needs to respond with something big to signal to their people that they are not ignoring the issue and consider the situation as something serious.

@extragirth64 The Canadian government could do a lot of things to ease the tension instead they are doing all the wrong things that escalate the tension. First thing was to not get involve. Since the CFO is only passing through they could argue that since she did not set put outside of the airport she did not enter Canada's jurisdiction. Blame everything to the US claim that the action was not sanction by the government and the PM only heard about it after the arrest. Not fire the ambassador that speak up for the CFO argue that his opinion was not shared by the government but he has the freedom of speech to state his opinion. Blame Trump that his the reason behind the arrest and the Canadian government is trying to sort everything out and make it clear that she did not violate any Canadian law and Trump set Canada up. All of Canada's action is very clear that they are willingly entering the US-CHINA trade dispute and the arrest is Canada's first action and firing the ambassador says Canada is not willing to talk.
