  1. How does this work. If I open 50 boxes then I can no longer open the 51st box that has my number. If I open 49 boxes then the 49nth box points to the 50th box not the 51st where my number is hidden and I don't know the address of the 51st box for me to open directly after the 49th box.

  2. The lower loop does not matter. You are doing 1-p where p is the probability of all the loops length greater than 50. You only count the higher loops and then subtract their sum from 100% probability.
