  1. If the circuit is broken then the bulb turns on and off a couple times as the electric field bounces on the edge until the field stabilizes then the bulb completely turns off.

  2. Basic electronics starts with D.C. circuit. Then more advance AC circuit is introduced. This thought experiment is even more advance involving transients.

  3.  @tranmthu  Electromagnetism is a very hard topic and not really necessary for practical application unless you are designing cross country transmission lines or very high frequency PCB traces.
