  1. It does not make sense for house insulation since you can just have thicker walls to get similar insulation characteristic at a significantly cheaper price. Aerogels advantage is it is lighter and less bulky which is not needed for house insulation.

  4. Aerogel is not stiff it is a soft gel like material with the liquid component inside substituted with gas.
