@dvl973 Having high end equipment does not make you a master chef. Yes the equipment are technologically advance but TSMC holds the recipe on how to cook chips. This recipe is the extensive tuning of the equipment and chemical reaction processes to fabricate microchip with good yields.

@Indrakrn They are not bigger than TSMC in terms of wafer production and this is the reason why they could not keep up. The more microchips you produce the more data you have to tune the fabrication to improve production. The improve production and bigger volume allows them bigger economy of scale to offer better prices and improve their cost. This in turn allows them to capture bigger and bigger share of chip production from fabless company that wants better deals.
