Low tech drones are not sufficient. We have yet to see Anti radiation suicide drones to disable jamming equipment deployed in Ukraine.

@rayzerot Yes you can call artillery to strike what ever is painted with your laser sight. Guided munitions are now a thing.
6
@inteallsviktigt The cheapest way to deliver bombs is with artillery but you need to make sure your artillery is safe from counter battery. So you need anti radiation drones to take out jamming equipment and counter battery radar. Both of them emit EM radiation when in operation so the drones can just home into the EM source. After that drones with GPS guidance can hunt down and take out the enemies artillery. With enemies artillery down your own artillery can now operate safely to deliver bombs helped with recon drones to put the bombs with pin point accuracy. Drones with ground penetrating radar can help find the mines and with the help of artillery disable them by dropping bombs on top of them.

@inteallsviktigt To take down a wall you can use bombs.
4
@Boomkoko220 What is stopping Ukrainian tanks are the mines and artillery. There is no hard kill for mines and artillery.
3
You need to understand that heavier gun needs heavier frame. Mounting a heavy gun on a light tank will tear itself apart firing their cannon.
3
If you have unlimited budget then tanks can help but with a shoe string budget every tank you buy is less artillery in your armed forces and artillery is a lot more useful equipment than tanks.

@bluemarlin8138 A light MLRS would work much better than a light tank when attacking entrenched position. Use drones to spot hard targets and then fire missiles at it with light MLRS at the backline. A missile luancher kit that can be fitted into a humvee will be much cheaper. The missiles can fly on a direct attack profile or switch into top attack profile to take out dug in position.

@rael5469 The era of drone warfare is just beginning we have yet to exploit the full capability of drones. If you think about it when planes are introduce they use it to spot enemy position and manually drop bombs. That is where we are right now with drones. Before the success of Bayraktar drones most military expert thought drones can be easily swatted.

@unrealfpvdroneproduction4357 carry a Javelin.
2
There is no hard kill system. A mine is still a mine and will take out tanks just the same. The same with artillery they will still kill tanks no matter how hardened it is.
2
@Akrilloth If air superiority is achieve you can just bomb your target with planes instead of artillery. There is no hard kill for planes dropping bombs.
2
@Akrilloth Yes the situation needs more artillery. That is my point. Artillery is better firepower.
2
Artillery helps a lot more with firepower.
2
In short more artillery less tanks.

@elementalgolem5498 The answer is to not advance the tanks. Use them dug in with dirt mounds in strategic position. They essentially become cannon fortification but they can be easily reposition in another dug in location when retreating. When advancing put them at the rear to defend pullback position. Yes tanks have lost all their attack capability but still useable defensively. But is it worth the expenses? I don't think it is worth it compared to buying more MLRS.
1
@Akrilloth There is Mortar Team.
1
@AbistThuringiensis There are heavy mortar.
1
@AbistThuringiensis There are Humvee mounted artillery.
1
@AbistThuringiensis You don't need 120mm to kill tanks.
1
@AbistThuringiensis Artillery are top attack. 105mm with anti tank warhead is enough.
1
@AbistThuringiensis Who said anything about shape charge. Shape charge is not the only way to kill a tank.
1
@AbistThuringiensis I am thinking of smart guided munition fired at maximum range dropping early scrubbing all that range into dive momentum hitting the roof of the tank with 16kg of high explosive.
1
@AbistThuringiensis No hard kill system can stop artillery shell from dropping on top of a tank because of conservation of momentum. 105mm has between 16kg to 20kg shell and there is a Humvee mounted 105mm artillery. The only things missing are smart guided munition for 105mm artillery. Current smart guided munitions were developed for the 155mm.
1
@AbistThuringiensis There is no hard kill for artillery shell. You just need to detonate the explosive payload near enough above the tank and the concussive wave will kill the crew. You cannot stop a 16~20kg shell from dropping on top of a tank.
1
@AbistThuringiensis Did the simulation also simulate fragments of the armor itself cutting the crew to pieces.
1
@AbistThuringiensis A hard kill will not detonate an artillery shell the explosive use in them are very stable. They will just punch through and destroy the copper cone on shape charges. So the only way the shell detonates early is if they can trigger the fuse early and some fuse has a trigger delay.
1
Paperwork do not give them training and experience. It will also not make them fight harder. Conscripts are cannon fodders.
1
aperpetualguardsmanwithafl2942 It is impossible to destroy stuff with tanks stuck in a minefield.
1
@chikko4973 no you just need lots of high precision long range artillery.
1
@MrZombiekiller23 There are a lot of destroyed Russian radar equipment.
1
Dismount and engage MBT with Javelins.
